We went to Esteban's on Saturday.

Chicken, Beef, & Shrimp Fajitas

Jalepeno Ranch (that tasted like mayonnaise, with a little bit of jalepeno taste)
Cheese and Sour Cream ( I mention this because they charged us $1.25 for each one....Ridiculous)
2 Drinks
tip
Price: $32

We give Esteban's........TWO THUMBS DOWN.

we had flippin' good time

.....at the Stars game with our friends, Michael and Kristin.

It has been so fun to get to know the Fants.  Matt and Michael share a love for sports, while Kristin and I share a love for crafts, teaching, and finding good deal.

We started off the evening riding the train to the American Airlines Center. We met Matt there since he rides the train to work everyday. If you are planning on going to an event at the AAC anytime soon, I totally recommend riding the train.  It's only $3 and you don't have to mess with parking or traffic.

The game started off really fun when the Stars scored early in the game, but they lost it in the end.  I've been to a couple Stars game, and I always leave dissapointed in the end because I have never seen a fight!  I left very happy because  I got to see quite a few.

We were sad that we lost....

but if you watch this video, you'll see why we still had a flippin' good time!!!
(You have to watch the whole video so you can see if from all the different view!!)

izzie vs. the donkey

Izzie had a good time with the donkey pinata from our Wiiesta.

I'm pretty sure she took the donkey down. See for yourself....

wiiesta

On Friday night we had our ABF over to our house for a "Wiiesta."  We had Mexican theme food, a pinata , and Samba de Amig0.   (a game similar to Dance Dance Revolution, but you have to shake the maraca instead of moving your feet. )
I was busy all day Friday cleaning house and cooking, but it was totally worth it.  I made a tres leches cake, homemade hot sauce, queso, a sopapilla cheesecake and peanut butter treats.  Lots of other goodies were brought by our class. We had about 20 people at our house.  Luckily our next door neighbors were out of town, because we got pretty loud!!

Here are some pictures from the night.....

Matt and Ben getting the Pinata ready.

Me and Sara shakin' it

Having a good time at our first party at our house!!

spring has sprung

I love this weather.  You can go outside and not sweat buckets or freeze your butt off.  It's just perfect weather.  In lieu of this perfect weather Matt and I set out to find some patio furniture a couple of weekends ago.  Oddly enough we found a nice reasonable priced set at Albertson's.

We have eaten outside a couple of nights since we got it.  It's just fabulous.  Now if only the wisteria over our pergola would start to bloom, it would be a perfect patio.

let the madness begin

Wednesday when Matt got home from work, he printed out two brackets for us to fill out.  We had all intentions of filling them out before we went to the church to play basketball (Matt  plays with the guys while I chat with the girls), but that didn't happen.  We got home late and finally got in bed at after 11pm.   We had almost fallen asleep when Matt realized we hadn't filled out our brackets.  We got up at 11:30 and filled our brackets.

I think it is quite fun to fill out the bracket and not know a single thing about the teams.  It's all a wild guess, but it's cool to see that I have made quite a few predictions right so far.

I'll be doing my best to not watch any games, and my sweet husband will be doing his best to watch all of the games.

Is it April yet?

lunch fit for the Irish

I was home all day cleaning out closets and organizing, so I didn't have anyone to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  I'm not really sure how you celebrate St. Patrick's Day but this is what I did. I wore my green shirt and I made a lunch fit for the Irish today.
I had GREEN GRAPES (that look moldy, but they are just really cold), KEY LIME PIE YOGURT, ROSEMARY & Olive Oil Triscuits with Parmesan with HERBS and Garlic Cheese Spread, and a Diet Coke with LIME.

Hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!!!

someone thinks I hate my dog

This afternoon I had to run to the grocery store because I realized I was missing two ingredients for our dinner tonight.  Anytime I take a quick trip somewhere I usually bring Izzie along. She loves to stick her head out the window and feel the fresh air blow on her face.  She's loved being in the car since she was a puppy.  Here is a picture of her in my Mom's car.  She just laid on the console the whole time we were driving.

So back to the point of my story.  I got to the grocery store, cracked the windows and ran into the grocery store to grab a tomato and some olives.  I was really quick.  But while I was in the grocery store, someone slipped this note in the window.

First of all, it was only 78 degrees and second of all I was in the grocery store for literally five minutes.  So she reported me....who did she report me to?  Are the cops going to come after me tonight?

I e-mailed Matt a picture of this note and he texted me back saying "haha....dog hater."

This person thinks I'm a dog hater. I wish she would have left me her e-mail address show I could show her my blog.  I think she would see that I love my dog.  I just posted a video of her an hour ago.

So to the random person that put a note in my car......"I don't hate my dog, I actually love her a whole lot."

wanna eat?

Izzie has been so thrown off by me being home during the day. I always feed her first thing when I get home from work. She doesn't really know when it's time to eat when I'm home all day. I have found her following me a lot and sitting by our pantry where her food is a couple of times today. Izzie was so excited today when I finally asked her if she wanted to eat.

And I know that I say "Do you want to eat?" 6 times!! You don't have to let me know!

go melissa!!!

Did you see Melissa on Dancing with the Stars last night??  She was smokin' hot.  She did such an awesome job at the Salsa, and she looked good doing it, too.  She even did great last week, and she only had 48 hrs to practice the dance.  If you are not a fan of Dancing With the Stars or just missed it, here is a video of her dancing.  It's not very good quality, but you can still tell that she did an amazing job!!

I'm rooting for Melissa Rycroftand Shawn Johnson. Who are you rooting for??

stay at home wife

Since I don't have school this week, I get to be a "Stay At Home Wife."  Most days I get home early enough to have dinner ready and the house straighten before Matt gets home, but it is sure nice to have enough time in the day to get everything that needs to be accomplished done before he gets home.

Today turned out to be a typical Monday.  Busy.  I straightened the house, did some laundry, worked out, rand a couple of errands, went to the cleaners, grocery shopped went to the doctor and cooked dinner.  I was home for maybe 2 hours today, and I barely sat down.  Props to Stay at Home Moms.  I don't know how you get anything done with a little one around.  I was busy enough just being a Stay at Home Wife.

Maybe I will be able to play some on my Spring Break tomorrow.

spring break

This is me jumping for JOY because I don't have to go to school this week.

I have to be honest....this year has not been so great.  I loved teaching last year.  I had a rough start, but I ended up with a dream class.  I knew at the end of the year, that my kids were really special kids, and that I probably wouldn't get so lucky to have 2 classes like them in a row.  I was right.  This year I have....well....to put it nicely.....a class that most teachers pray they don't have.  Okay, maybe it's not that bad, but it's seriously driving me to the point where I don't love teaching like I used to.

Thus the reason why I'm jumping for joy that I don't have to go to school this week.

I don't have any super exciting plans, but I am actually excited to finish all the things I have planned to do.
  • Paint the office
  • Clean out closets
  • Make my blog pretty
  • Make lots of homemade cards
  • Finish my coupon box
  • Working out during the day
  • Shop
If you aren't working this week, enjoy your week off.

Happy Spring Break!!

twitter

I'm trying to figure this "Twitter" thing out. This video explains it well, but I'm not sure I'm totally on the Twitter bandwagon.

I've added my updates on my blog for the time being.  We'll see how my Twitter experience goes.

dreaming

In 2 short days I'll be off for Spring Break.  I'm dreaming of my clock in my classroom saying Friday March13th 3:00pm.

This picture was taken last Spring Break when Matt and I got engaged.  I won't quite be on the beach this Spring Break, but I'm not complaining about 9 straight days without school.

my best friend's wedding

Congratulation to the Mullen's

This past weekend one of my longtime friends and my Maid of Honor in my wedding got married.  Her wedding was absolutely gorgeous, and she was too.  She truly is one of those people that are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.  She is such a special friend to me and I was honored to stand by her on her special day.  Our whole lives we've talked about getting and married and having babies and being mommies together.  And now we have just gotten married 5 month apart.  I wonder if we'll be having babies at the same time too??

I had such a good time at the wedding.  I got to spend the evening with my sweet husband.

I got to see my sweet roommate from college.

I got to hang out with some of my high school friends.

And I had some really yummy, pretty, strawberry cake!!

Thank you Brittany for letting me be a part of your special day!  We can't wait to hang out with you guys when you get back from your honeymoon!

this side up

Did you know that if you put the popcorn bag upside down the popcorn won't pop?  And when you flip it over to try it on the right side, it still won't pop.

I learned that today.  Just thought I would share that with you.  Don't try it at home.  You'll just waste a bag of popcorn.  Just trust me.

When I was a kid I used to think if you didn't put it where it said "this side up" it would blow up in the microwave.  It's a good thing that didn't happen or I would have blown up the school.

productive laziness

I have to admit.....I love watching TV.  One the new shows I've been watching this season is The Biggest Loser.  I'm obsessed.  Sadly most weeks I watch the show sitting in bed while eating a snack or dessert.  Last week I decided that thing were going to change because 24 hr Fitness has these awesome treadmills.

Treadmills with TV's.  Coolest invention ever.

This week I did crunches during the show and cleaned the kitchen during the commercials during the first hour of the show.  Matt and I rushed to the gym between commercials and then I ran during the commercials and walked fast during the second hour of the show.

It felt so good to watch my favorite show and work out at the same time!!

Better late than never....

So we all know what happen. Jason tried to get the best of both worlds and wound up looking like a big fat jerk. I really don't understand why he didn't just break it off before the After the Rose Show and then just start dating Molly off the camera. He wouldn't have been the first to do it. I never heard about Prince Lorenzo doing that, so we might have never heard if Jason switched girls. He just publicly made himself look like a jerk. Not a good decision. I think he was down right rude by breaking up with Melissa and then minutes later start making out with Melissa. And well....I don't think it was to classy for Molly to be doing it either.

Overall, I think it was a perfect ending for the low and selfish people that Jason and Molly seem to be. They deserve each other. And Melissa deserves so much better than Jason. I feel really sorry for Jason if things don’t work out because I don’t know how he will ever be able to convince someone that he is not a jerk. I was watching a clip on Ellen of Molly and Jason on her show the other day. Molly said she was eventually going to move to Seattle. I wonder if that will ever happen.

So Melissa definitely got the better end of the deal…..she's moving on to Dancing with the Stars. And I thought she did a pretty good job last night. I loved all the judges comments for Melissa. One judge came straight out and called Jason a loser. And another one said “The Bachelor’s loss is Dancing with the Stars gain!” So true. I think she will go far in this competition, because I think she has quite a few loyal fans that want her to win something!!

I will be tuning in next season to The Bachelorette and I hope that you will still check back and discuss it with me since my husband could care less about the show. He is not one to discuss the show with me, but he did watch a portion of Jason breaking up with Melissa with me. Jason just kept talking and talking and wasn’t really making any sense…..that’s when Matt said, “He sounds like Obama. Haha.

Okay I need to end this post. I’m already a week behind, but I have to show you that I pretty much nailed it with one of my previous Bachelor post. Jason is an IDIOT!!! The reason for that title was because I was shocked that he let Jillian go. You can pretty much read that old post and it is relevant after last week's final rose ceremony and final rose show. I loved her, and at the time, I loved them together. But I’m so so glad that Jillian was able to escape the final rose ceremony and move on to being the next Bachelorette!! Yay!! I'm so excited about that.

Until next season…..

happy birthday izzie!!

Happy Birthday sweet girl!!

Izzie spent her like any other dog would love spending their birthday. Being lazy!!

And when I said lazy, I meant SUPER lazy!!!

We love you!!

i be up in the gym.....

.....just working on my fitness!!

Matt and I just joined 24 Hour Fitness.  I'm so excited to have a work out buddy.   We got a super good deal.  Matt gets a great discount for both of us for working at Children's Medical Center.  We are basically paying less than what one person would normally pay for both of us.  We are going to try to make a routine of going on the same days each week so it just becomes habit.  We are both hoping to stay fit and I'm hoping to shed off the 5ish pounds I've gained since being married.
