{Pearson's Story} Chapter 3: C-Section

Once Matt got his scrubs on and the doctors got the Operating Room and me all prepped it was no time until we heard our sweet baby's cry.  He was born at 2:21 and he was SCREAMING!!  The boy has some lungs.  He also peed on the doctors right whenever he came out!!
He also peed on the nurse that got him all cleaned up.
I could hear him cry, but I couldn't see him.  I just kept telling Matt to take as many pictures as he could.
I got my first glimpse of him when they were weighing him.  He weighed.  7 pounds and 15 ounces.  He was 21 inches long.
When I saw Matt holding him for first time I lost it.
And when he showed him to me I couldn't hold back the tears.  They were tears of JOY.
Our baby boy was perfect.  He was absolutely perfect!!
Our anesthesiologist snapped our first family of 3 picture!!
The whole c-section process was just crazy.  They were still working on stitching me back up all while we were celebrating and taking pictures.  I couldn't feel a thing other than pressure.  It was so weird.
Matt and I couldn't take our eyes off of him.
He was crying for a while, but when I was holding him he didn't make a sound.
After we all three spend a little time together, Matt went back to the Labor and Delivery Room with Pearson and the nurses while they finished cleaning me up.

They checked all of Pearson's vitals and made sure he was healthy.
And Matt got to oooohhh and ahhhhh over him until I came back in the room.
When I got back in the room I wanted to hold him right away, but I was shaking so bad from the epidural.  I had to calm down before they let me hold him.  I chewed on some ice chips and took some deep breaths, then I got to hold my baby!!
Skin to Skin.  I will never forget this moment.  He didn't make a sound.  It was just like we were back together like we had been for the past 9 months.
I got to nurse Pearson for the first time then we took another family picture!!
At this point it was around 3:30am.  Our parents had been in the waiting room for about 7 hours.
I know they were dying to meet Pearson and we couldn't wait to show off our son!!

Yep the pressure feeling on the c-section is definitely wierd. Love that you got so many pics. I nearly teared up reading this. That first skin to skin contact really is amazing!

I cried the minute I saw Carson, too. I don't think it's possible to not cry. It's extra special seeing a daddy with their son for the first time too. I'm not sure that goes away, I LOVE watching Ryan and Carson together.
