nash {4 months}

Dear Sweet Nash-
You are so stinking sweet, I can barely handle it.  You smile at us so easily and it just melts my heart.

Sleeping:
You are still sleeping anywhere from 10-12 hours at night.  You are so easy going.  You don't really have an exact bed time and wake-up time.  You just kinda go with the flow.  However you typically go to bed around 7:30 or 8pm and wake around 6:30-7:30am.  I always try to give you your paci and hold you off getting you out of bed until 7am.  I don't remember the last time you woke up in the middle of the night.  You are a great sleeper!!  You are also a great napper!!  You take an awesome morning nap. I absolutely hate whenever we have to miss it.  I put you down about an hour after you wake up in the morning and you sleep 2-3 hours.  I usually rock you for a few minutes with a blanket over your head and you fall right asleep.  Almost everyday you take a little mid-day nap.  It either in the car while we are out and about or in your crib for just 30-45 minutes.  You typically go down for your afternoon nap around 2:30 and sleep for another two hours.  This is nice because Pearson sleeps from 2-5 so I get a little time to myself!!  I'm hoping you keep up with the good naps because this is when Pearson really struggled with nap time.
Eating:
You nurse every 3-3.5 hours during the day and go 11-12 hours at night.  We are slowing transitioning to a 4 hour schedule.  You just aren't starving every 3 hours and that schedule is kind of demanding when there is an older brother.  Most of the time you go about 3.5 hours in between feedings and it's been perfect.  Most days our schedule is 7:00, 10:30, 2:00, 5:00, 7:30.  We are back to not taking bottles all that well.  It's partially my fault because I hate having to pump and give you a bottle.  I only give you a bottle when I'm not with you and I have to.  You will usually drink most of the bottle, the nursery workers just say it takes you forever.  Oh well, I prefer to nurse you anyways so I'm just fine with you preferring nursing over a bottle!!
New Tricks/Activities/Accomplishments:
You smile all the time, which is new for us because Pearson was Mr. Serious.  We can just look at you and you grin at us.  You also giggle really easily as well.  Just like big brother, your feet are connected to your smiles.  This sounds terrible but you are still a pretty boring baby.  You really have no desire to do any tricks yet.  No rolling over, no tripod sitting, and not really much interested in playing with toys.  You would much prefer to sleep, talk to us, or suck on your hands!!
Likes:
Sleeping and eating are definitely your favorite pastime.  You love watching your brother and you love to talk to us.  You make the sweetest little noises when you talk to us.  You love your mobile, the little toys that hang from your play mat and Sophie.  You like to be swaddled at night and you like to be rocked with a blanket over your head for nap time.  You love to sleep on your tummy for nap time.  You love taking a bath.  You kick your legs and make big splashed with your arms!
Dislikes:
When your gums/new teeth hurt.  You don't like taking a bottle. You don't like being sleepy.  These are just about the only times that you are fussy.  You are a go with the flow, happy go lucky kind of baby!
Other Random Facts:
  • You started physical therapy for your torticollis.  You keep your head turned to the right and tilted to the left so we are working on strengthening your muscles.
  • We went for an evaluation for a DocBand yesterday and it looks like we will be getting one.
  • Your first tooth starting coming through just a few days before you turned 4 months old.
  • You flew though your 3-6 months clothes.  So many of them are getting too small already.  We are having to move on to 9 month stuff and even a few 12 month hand me downs.
  • The nursery workers always tell me that you get the "Best Baby Award" because you are always so happy and take great naps!
  • You started spitting up this month.
  • Your cradle cap is out of control on your head.  It's so rough and flaky and nothing seems to clear it up.  You are also starting to get a dry red patch on your face so I'm wondering if it's exema.
  • To help with your torticollis, we have started to let you "watch TV" so you will turn your head to the left.  You seem to stay the most interested in sports.  This definitely makes Daddy proud!!
  • You took your first trip to the pool.  You felt the water for a little bit but then slept through the rest of the trip!
  • You took your first road trip to Grammy & Grandaddy's house.  Of course, you slept through the whole drive!!
