pearson {12 months}

Dear Sweet Pearson-
It's your birthday!!  You are ONE today!! How in the world are you one today?  Time flies when you are having fun because this year has absolutely flown by.
You got to have a toy in your pictures again this month because you will not cooperate for pictures in the chair anymore.  Grammy helped me with these pictures this month!
We have had so much fun with you this month.  You are really at a fun age where we can go and do things like the pool, the splash park, the library, etc.  We are having a blast checking off all of our summer list things!!
You are so curious these days.  You love to pick up toys and inspect them and figure out how they work.  You also love to mimic things we do.  Every time you hear someone cough you have this silly fake cough.  It makes us laugh so hard.  And then you keep doing it because you love the attention.
These days your favorite place to be is in the kitchen. You love to get into the tupperware cabinet, try to get into Izzie's bowls, and press all the buttons on the printer.  Your favorite thing to do is move around all of the kitchen table chairs.  When Daddy gets home from work you have the whole kitchen rearranged!
You've started to throw these little (short) screaming fits if you can't figure something out, get stuck or we make you do something you don't like.  You straighten your legs and let out this high pitched scream, then when we help you out you are fine.  Oh boy, he might be preparing us for the terrible two's!!
At the beginning of June you took your very first steps while I was away.  You took 3 steps for Daddy!!  For a few weeks you would take 2-3 steps here and there, but you definitely crawled everywhere.  Just two days ago you took 5 steps and then 18 steps.  You are super wobbly but you are getting better and better at walking each day.  I'm sure you will be running soon!!
You still don't have to many words.  But I'm not too concerned about it because you are a boy and let's face it, your Daddy doesn't talk to much either!!  You do know how to say DaDa and bah-bah (bye-bye), you can also say Go.  You can sign "more" and when I ask you to say Mama, you give me kisses.  I'm sure in the months to come your vocabulary will really take off, but for now you are totally okay with babbling.
Your new trick this month is giving kisses.  If I say "Give Momma kisses" you smack your lips and give kisses. It's the cutest thing ever.  You also started saying bye-bye again this month.  You still love to dance.  Everytime you hear music you instantly start to bob your head! It's too cute!!

No new teeth this month, which means awesome sleeping at night again!! You literally sleep 7:30-7:30 without making a peep.  I love how much you love to sleep!!
You are still napping great this month.  You take 2 naps around 9am and 2pm for 1.5-2 hours.  I never thought I would be like this, but I am totally that Mom that plans her days around naps.  You don't nap well in the car or stroller, so we have to be home for you to nap.  Naps are just no longer an issue for us.  I just lay you in your crib and you are asleep with 20 minutes.  Thankfully you are napping in your crib again too!

You are a grump if you miss your naps, so it's important for me to schedule my day around your naps.  I know you won't always take two naps so we are going to continue doing what we are doing until you drop your morning nap and then we'll have more freedom to do more things.  Until then, we just get out and do our errand between 11 and 2.
Just this past week I dropped your last mid-day nursing.  When you wake up from your afternoon nap I now give you a sippy cup of formula.  I am still nursing you first thing in the morning and right before bed.
I'm not sure when I'll wean you from those feedings as you still seem interested and doing well.  I promise I won't be the crazy Mom on Time Magazine that nurses until you are 4 but I wouldn't be opposed to going  a few more months.  It's just a sweet special time that we share together and I know I'm going to miss it when you are done.  It's one of the only times during the day that you will sit still and cuddle with me.
You are still eating 3 meals a day around 8:30, 12:30, and 6.  You are doing really great with table food this month. A few new things that you have tried this month and love are.....roast & carrots, chicken nuggets, cheese quesadilla, baked beans, & brussel sprouts.  You do not like cantelope, watermelon, or cucumbers.  You are pretty much eating whatever we are eating with the exception of a few spicy things or things that just aren't soft enough for you.
We have been to the pool so many times this month.  You are definitely a little water baby! You love the pool.  You are already starting to get little tan lines on your arms and legs.
I also joined the gym this month, so I have been bringing you up to the gym with me.  You love to go to the childcare area and play with all their toys.  Every time I pick you up they always tell me how they want to keep you and how perfect you are!! I love that you are totally okay with being away from me.  You do great in the nursery at church too!
You have made this year the very best year of our lives.  I can't wait to see what year two has in store for you!!
You are truly such an easy baby and I am so grateful for that.  How did we get so lucky? You bring a smile to our face each and every day. You make our lives SO fun.  What did we ever do without you?
And I think you are done with these monthly pictures!!  Thanks for putting up with them each month because they really do make your Mommy so happy!!
Happy Birthday sweet boy!!

Love-
Your Mommy
