Dear Sweet Pearson-
You are 2 months old today!! You have been such a joy this month. Your Daddy and I love you so much. It's crazy how much we have fallen in love with you in just two short months. You are the light of our lives and bring us so much joy!
The best part about this month is that you started smiling at us. We had been seeing little previews of what your smiles would look like when you were sleeping for a while, but this month we saw a real responsive smile. You smiled for the first time when you were five weeks and five days old, which was actually the day your cousin Olivia was born! You love to smile for Mommy in the morning and for Daddy in the evening, but when it comes to anybody else, you are still a little stingy with your smiles. You were even being a little stingy with them this morning when I took your 2 month pictures. We just can't get enough of your sweet little smiles. They just melt our heart.
You have also started "playing" with us a little. Every morning we have little conversations and you make the sweetest little coos and noises. You can really focus on us when we talk to you. You love to look at your toys that make noise. You love to look at your toys on your carseat. You have also started playing on your playmat. It entertains you for a good 30 minutes each day. You love to look at yourself in the mirror on it. I just love "playing" and "talking" with you.
You are such a happy baby! The only time you ever get fussy is if I've made you wait to long to eat or if you are ready for a nap. Both can be remedied very quick though. You had a fussy time in the evenings from around 5-8, but you dropped bad habit around 6 weeks. You are a delight in the evenings and you love to love on your Daddy at night time. It's so sweet to see Daddy come home and be so excited to hold you. I just love watching you two together.
You have become quite the sleeper this month. We moved the Pack N Play out of our bedroom and into the living room when you were 5 weeks old. As soon as we moved you out of our room you started sleeping 5-7 hours in between feedings. At 6 1/2 weeks old we moved you to your crib and you started sleeping through the night, going anywhere from 8-10 hours in between feedings. After your last feeding at night I swaddle you, give you your paci and put you in your crib whether you are asleep or not. You fall asleep without making a peep within about 10 minutes. I am truly amazed that you can put your self to sleep and that you have been sleeping through the night since you were 6 1/2 weeks old. You really are an unbelievable sleeper.
Not only are you a good sleeper, you are a good napper too. You take 2 long naps (2-3 hours), one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In between your other feedings you usually take a short nap, anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. For your long naps, I break the "rules" and let you sleep on your tummy. You just don't like to sleep on your back unless you are swaddled.
You have put your self on a great schedule. I haven't had to try to put you on a schedule, you are just a "schedule baby", and I love it. I am a schedule kind of person so it makes me so happy to have a good idea of what your sleep/eating schedule is for the day. The great thing about you is that you can still stay on the same schedule even if we are out and about, at church or with family. You really are such an easy baby!!
We've really gotten into a good routine during the day. Most days I am able to work-out, shower, get ready, run errands or clean if needed, blog and cook dinner all while loving you to pieces. I absolutely love staying home with you. Reality really hit this week that I didn't have to go to work when all the teachers went back on Monday. We are so lucky that Daddy works hard for us to get to stay at home together.
There are still days that I look at you and I can't believe that you are ours. God has truly blessed us with you. I am so glad that God chose me to be your Mommy. I love you sweet boy!!
Love-
Your Mommy
