10 Ways to Save on Groceries Without Coupons

Today I'm blogging over at Dallas Moms Blog all about ways to save on groceries without using coupons.

Can you believe I even said that?

I used to be the coupon queen.  Not so much any more.  I still love a good deal and I love saving money on groceries but I've had to find a way to do it without coupons because of the season of life that I am in.  Life is just do busy to clip coupons right now.

Go check out all my tips here!!

DMB Date Night at Starpower

Last Sunday night Dallas Moms Blog hosted a FREE date night at Starpower.
This date night was right up Matt's alley because it was essentially an indoor tailgate party watching the Dallas Cowboys play on all the big screens in the store!!

They a chef cooking lots of yummy tailgate food in one of their test kitchens.
Since it felt so great outside we ate our dinner out on the patio while watching the game on one of their outdoor TV's.
For dessert they served up some Nothing Bundt Cakes.  OMG......so delicious!!!
We actually ended up scoring one of the media rooms to watch most of the game.  There were only three seats in the room so we had the whole room to ourselves.  The sound system was amazing so we felt like we were right at the game.
I don't normally watch the Cowboys games, but if we watched every game in this atmosphere, I could get used to it!!!
Such a fun date night with my handsome hubby!!

chevy after dark

On Tuesday night Matt and I got to have a little week night date night.  It pays to be a blogger sometimes!! Chevy contacted a handful of different local Mommy Bloggers and invited us and a guest to come to the State Fair and test drive their cars in the Chevy Ride and Drive Exhibit.  The closed it down from the public and we and about 15 other Mommy Bloggers and their guests had it to ourselves.  We didn't have to wait in any lines to drive the cars!!
We got to test drive a 2014 Silverado Double Cab, a 2014 Camaro Coupe, and a 2014 Impala,
But the best car that we got to test drive was the 2014 Corvette Stingray!!!
To bad there's not enough room for two carseats in the backseat because I think I looked pretty good in this red Corvette!!
After we were finished test driving all of the car each of us were given 2 more tickets to come back to the fair and 20 coupons to spend!!  Since we were already in the Fair we walked around and spent our coupons!
We hadn't had dinner so we were both starving.  We spent all of our coupons on food!!  Matt got a famous Fletcher's corn dog.
I'm not a fan of corn dogs so I always get a Corny Cheese! It's my must have at the fair!

We always like to try something new.  This year we tried the Fried Biscuit & Gravy.  It wasn't good at all.  I don't recommend it.

We also tried the Fried Spinach Dip Bites which were one of the award winners this year.  They were delicious.  It was too bad that we only got two of them because I could have eaten like ten of them!
Our last stop before we headed home to get our little man was a Nutty Ice Cream Bar.  Sooooooo good! It's also one of my must haves.
I'm so glad we got free tickets to go back so we can take Pearson and do some of the kid things with him.....and of course indulge in some more fried food!

project mom

Last weekend Carissa and I went to Project Mom.  Since it was in Allen, we were able to get away for the day but be back home for dinner with our boys!! We went to three different breakout sessions and they were all so informative: Growing Confident Children, Messy Mommyhood, and Creative Discipline for Every Child and Every Age.
My favorite “take-away” was from the session taught by Rebecca Carrell titled “Messy Mommyhood”.  Social media makes us all feel like we have to be the perfect Mom or doing what the next Mom is doing but she really encouraged us to know that it’s okay to be a mess.  Messy Moms learn far more from their struggles than from their success.  It was encouraging to be reminded that I don’t have to try to be like any other Mom.  I am the only one that can be my kids Mom and I am exactly what they need!!

I am already looking forward to next year’s Project Mom.  I can guarantee you that I’ll be there!  It was such a refreshing day to be surrounded by and encouraged by other Moms.

GMT fall fashion day

Last week I, along with some other Dallas Moms Blog Contributors, had the opportunity to sit in the  audience of Good Morning Texas' Fall Fashion Day!
I didn't want to drive down to Dallas by myself so my sister in law joined me!! We had so much fun and even made a few appearances on TV!!
The show was all about fashion......hair, make-up, nails, clothes, shoes, accessories, & jewelry.  We both really enjoyed seeing how a live show is taped.  It was definitely a neat experience.
We also got to see Greg Fields tell us about the weather!!
After the show we made a quick little stop at Trader Joe's to shop around and then we went to Zoe's Kitchen. It's probably my new favorite place!! Apparently there is a good Greek Restaurant very close to where I need to live so I need to go check it out!!
Did any of you see me on TV??

dallas moms blog

At the end of July I was asked to join the team of writers behind Dallas Moms Blog.  You should totally add them to your Blog Reader so you can see all the fun things they post about.
I'm really excited about this fun opportunity.  I'll typically post 1-2 times a month.
It's not a paying job, but the perks are pretty cool!  In a few weeks I get to attend Project Mom.

It's a 1 day conference in Allen designed to inspire, motivate and renew Moms.  If you are interested in going, check out this post for a special code to get 25% off.  I'd love for you to join me!!

And if you haven't already seen it,  you can check out my first post on Dallas Moms Blog.

kids eat free

Today Pearson and I got to eat lunch at Hook, Line & Sinker with some of the other Dallas Moms Blog Contributors.  Beginning on September 18th at the Preston location, Kids Eat FREE on Wednesdays!!
I just had to post this picture that our PR representative posted because it totally represented our lunch date!  There were 7 Moms and 9 Kids so it was kind of crazy, but the food was delicious (and FREE), so we all enjoyed ourselves!!
First they brought us out a few of their appetizers including.....
The Mexican Cocktail.....so good!
 Shrimp Cocktail.....always my favorite!
They also brought us out some delicious stuffed jalepenos and some oysters that this pregnant Mama did not touch!! Eww yuck!!

Pearson thoroughly enjoyed his chicken nuggets and fries, but he wouldn't touch any kind of shrimp.
I usually try to avoid fried food, but this fried shrimp was calling my name! It hit the spot today!!
I can guarantee we'll be hitting up Hook, Line & Sinker again in the near future......especially since it's right down the street from Matt's new office!!

What are some other restaurants that Kids Eat FREE?

Also, be on the look out for my first post to go live this Thursday at Dallas Moms Blog.  I'm so excited to be apart of this neat blog.
