Today was Matt's first day back to work after being off for 3 1/2 weeks. I sure did enjoy having him home!! He was super helpful and we had a great time being together. Since Matt went back to work, I officially started my "new job" as a Stay at Home Mommy!!
I am so excited to spend all of my days with this little cutie.
We started our first day at home together with a little morning stroll. I fed him while Matt was getting ready then we walked out the door around 7:30am while it was just 79 degrees. If I want to get a walk in these days, I've got to go early. We just can't get out in the 100 degree weather.
Pearson was asleep within 2 minutes of the walk!!
When we got home he was snoozin' so good that I just left him in his car seat while I took a shower. When I got out of the shower, he had left a HUGE surprise in his diaper for me......a.k.a BLOWOUT. We got all changed out of our stinky diapers {and clothes}, and moved to the bouncy seat for a while.
As you can see, it didn't take long for him to fall right back asleep.
I was able to fix my hair and put make-up on. Score!!
While he snoozed, I caught up on some thank-you notes and watched some TV I had DVRed. I watched the Jaycee Lee Dugard interview with Diane Sawyer. Did any of you watch it? Unbelievable.
For lunch we ran up to Arby's. I'm not a fan of Arby's sandwiches, but I had a coupon for free value menu item with any purchase. I got a Chicken Sandwich that was $1 and got some Curly Fries for free. Lunch for $1.08....not to bad. And the chicken sandwich was actually really good!!
After lunch Pearson did some more snoozin'.
This was actually the first time he stayed in his swing for longer that 5 minutes. Until today, he hasn't really been a fan. I'm so glad he stayed in it for a while, because I was able to straighten the house and get some laundry done while he was swinging away!
When he was done with the swing, we got out again and got my free slurpee at 7-11 since today is 7-11!!
And technically since I breastfeed Pearson, he had his first slurpee too!!
After our trip to 7-11 we took a little trip to CVS to exchange a package of 1's for newborns. We just aren't quite ready for 1's. They are a tad to big. We also took a quick trip to Lolly's house to see her and have her take up a new shirt I bought. And can you guess what we did when we got home??
I promise he isn't asleep all day. He just cooperates better for pictures when he's asleep.
I would say that we had a pretty successful day, but we sure were happy when Daddy got home!!

Do you want those newborn diapers back you gave me the other day? I swear I won't mind if you do. We are going to my dr appt in the morning only 2 more left! YES! Then getting party supplies and maybe hitting Build a Bear to use his coupon he got in the mail for his birthday. I'll call you on the way back and see what you're up to. Looks like you had a great first day alone. I bet it's kind of lonely now that Matt is back and you're used to having another adult to talk to. I remember being so bored when it was just Carson and I.
Sounds like a great first day for you! Pearson is so good and cute! :)
That is a GREAT first day! The first month or so that we had Naomi, she just didn't want to be put down so I wouldn't have dreamed of doing all that stuff. That's awesome!
We were in newborn diapers for at least 3 months, but then it seemed like she flew through the size 1 diapers. We've now got a big pile of size 1 diapers that I need to exchange for size 2. You'll know when you need to switch and the pound guidelines on the packages are pretty good.
Anyway, great first day! It really is fun to stay at home with the baby.
Sounds like a great first day :-)
You were busy busy! All I wanted to do when Bryson was a baby was sit and hold him and watch him sleep and make silly faces. Ohh what sweet memories!!
Hope you have a great rest of the week "on the job!!"
That's amazing how much you got done!! What a sweet boy to cooperate so well.
What a great first day. Pearson is such a good little guy. I chersihed every picture of him. He is so adorable!
I watched that Jaycee Dugard show also. I was just amazed at what a great attitude she had. Very strong young woman. Amazing what she went through and survived!
