I want to remember every little detail of how Pearson came into this world.  Since I took so many pictures and we had an extended hospital stay because of my c-section, I decided to divide his story up into chapters.  After 2 days of organizing pictures and 2 days of typing posting I finally have them all put together.  You can scroll down trough my blog and read all the posts backwards or you can click on each chapter from here!! Read every word or just look at the pictures, but enjoy the story of our sweet Pearson!!

{Pearson's Story} Chapter 9: Home Sweet Home

We got home around 1:30pm.  My parents had all of our family over for Father's Day lunch, so my Mom came to our house right before we got home and had the leftovers all warmed up for us to have lunch at home!!
It felt so good to be home with our little boy!!
Before we clipped of our bands off confirming that we were a family and that Pearson belonged to us, we had to take a picture!! Don't you just love his little squished up face??
Home Sweet Home!!
We are so excited for the adventures of parenthood and looking forward to adjusting to life as a family of three!!

{Pearson's Story} Chapter 8: Coming Home

Daddy & Pearson started the morning with some Father's Day snuggles while Mommy got ready to go home!!  We didn't know exactly what time we would be coming home, but we wanted to be ready.  Although we loved our hospital stay, we were excited to get home as a family of three.
A nursery nurse came in to do a hearing screen.  It was so cool how they did it.
She swaddled him up really tight and hooked all these things up to his head and ears.
She played whisper sounds from her computer into his headphones and then it measured his brain activity to see if he was hearing it.  He passed with flying colors, and he didn't even wake up when she took it all off!!
Before we got Pearson all dressed to come home, they had to cut off his tags.  I thought the little "Hugs" monitor was so funny.  I called it the "Don't Steal My Baby" monitor.  If we or anyone else took him in an elevator or through any double doors an alarm would sound, so nobody could steal my baby!!
Pearson's little Father's Day coming home outfit fit perfectly!
Matt was one proud Daddy!!
While Daddy got the car all loaded me and Pearson just hung out in the rocker.  I nursed him one last time before we left so he would be snoozing on the way home.
He looked SO tiny in his car seat.  He woke up a little bit when we first put him in.
But it didn't take long for him to fall right back asleep.
We said goodbye to our nurses and I gladly hopped in the wheelchair and we rolled out the car!!
I had been in the hospital for 5 days so I made a comment about how I didn't realize how hot it was to the nurse.  Matt said that it was 102 degrees.
The nurse told us that it was actually 102 degrees in my womb.  Crazy huh?

We got him all buckled up.
And we were off!!
Pearson had the cutest little squished up face the entire way home.  Matt and I couldn't stop starting at him through the little mirror we have above his head.
We had to make a quick trip to CVS to get my prescriptions, but we were almost home as a family of three!!

{Pearson's Story} Chapter 7: A Quiet Day

Saturday was such a quiet day.  There was barely anybody left in our wing, and we were the last room in the hall so nobody was even walking by our room.

We spent most of the day snoozing.
Our ABF directors stopped by and brought us Chick-fil-A for lunch.  Like I said, the hospital food was wonderful, but it was great to get some food from the outside world!!
We took an afternoon walk and ordered a fruit plate and some desserts for a late afternoon snack.  Our friends Joel and Carissa stopped by around dinner time to meet Pearson.
Before we went to bed, I tried Pearson's going home outfit on him.  It absolutely swallowed him.  Thanksfully I stuck in another outfit that happened to say "Daddy's Best Friend" on it.  It was going to be the perfect outfit to go home in because we would be leaving on Father's Day!!
Saturday was such a good day, because we kind of felt like it was a preview of what life at home would be like.  We didn't have a ton of visitors and the nurses didn't seem to come in quiet as much as they had been.  We had sent Pearson to the nursery each night for 3 hours to get a little sleep, and we had plans to do the same this nigh, but we ended up not sending him because he slept like a champ.  He fell fast asleep after each feeding and we had a great night!

{Pearson's Story} Chapter 6: A Busy Day

Friday morning the nurse came in and helped me get out of bed and take a shower.  I put my cute pajamas on, put make-up on, and fixed my hair.  I was still moving slow, but I felt like a new woman all cleaned up.  I could definitely feel my body healing.  I even felt good enough to take our baby on a little stroll.  It was amazing how much faster I could move from just the night before.
Matt still did almost all of the diaper changes and taking care of him while I did all the feedings!!
Aunt Jennifer (Matt's sister) and Uncle David came to visit us!!
They decided to leave their boys Peyton and Preston at home since we were still in the hospital.  They are going to come meet Pearson sometime later at our house.  Mini P can't wait to meet the other two P's.....Big P and Little P.  Poor Grammy and Grandaddy.  All their grandkids are E's and P's......Peyton, Preston, Pearson, Emma, Ellie, Ethan!! Just a little bit confusing!!
Pearson got real cozy with Aunt Jenn!!
Around 2pm, they came and took Pearson away to get circumcised.
I gave him a big squeeze and said a little prayer for him.
My doctor said he did great during the circumcision.  They gave him a pacifier with a little sugar water on it and they said he sucked so hard on it.  She said that he had both hands protecting it so no one could take it out.  When he came back though he was screaming!!  My shirt had an elastic neckline, so I took his clothes off and just stuck him in my shirt like a little kangaroo to do some skin to skin and try to soothe him.
He instantly stopped crying.  It was so sweet.
Later that afternoon, my grandma and grandpa came to meet Pearson.
Oma couldn't get over how cute our little guy was!!
My friend Cinnamon also came to meet Pearson.
She also brought me a Sonic Slush which made me a very happy Mommy!!
Our friends Eric and Julie came to meet Pearson also!
I love how teeny tiny Pearson looks up against Eric.
We are so thankful for our friends from our ABF.
All their sweet phone calls, text messages, facebook messages, e-mails and visits really meant alot to us.
Since Grammy got to see Pearson earlier in the day with Aunt Jenn and Uncle David, Grandaddy decided to swing by on his way home from work to see our sweet boy!!
I looked forward to every meal of the day at the hospital.  The food was actually really good, and it was so nice to pick up the phone, place my order and have them say "We'll have it to you in 45 minutes or less!!"  Matt even got 4 meal vouchers so he ate breakfast at the hospital everyday and grabbed something elsewhere for lunch or dinner.
After dinner, two of my sweet former students, Sheridan and Brooklyn and their parents came to visit.  They brought Pearson a sweet gift and lots of cute drawings!!
Pearson also got some snuggle time with Pops.
After all of our vistors left, we had a little Friday night date in the hospital bed.  We put Pearson down for a nap in his bassinet and we watched Friday Night Lights.  It was so nice because it was during the nurse's shift change, so we watched the entire show without any interruptions from nurses coming in!
Late in the evening, my little brother and his girlfriend, Marissa came to meet Pearson.
 Uncle Drew and Pearson!!
My uncle Richard also stopped by to meet Pearson.
Before everyone left, we took a cute little family of three picture and then we crashed.
We had a wonderful day full of visitors, but we were exhausted.

We were told on Friday morning that there were 52 babies in the hospital.  They were so full!! They said that most were being discharged on Friday afternoon, so we were really looking forward to a quiet Saturday in the hospital.
