cuh-wuh

Pearson loves to "cuh-wuh" (color).

When I saw these Washable Easy-Grip Crayons at Target, I knew they would be perfect for my little man. It was the perfect little thing to add to his Easter Basket this year!

This former Kindergarten teacher loves how the triangular shape promotes a proper writing grip.

Although Pearson's grip isn't that great in this picture. Ha!!

We've been learning letters, numbers and shapes so now it's time to learn our colors.

Purple the only color he knows right now. However, everything is purple, so technically he just knows the word purple!!

And since our high chair tray isn't really large enough for a coloring book, we busted out our new "high chair". I love it and so does he!!

Remember, this is the chair I talked about painting here. I got it at Garage Sale for $3!! I seriously can't wait to paint it. It's going to be so cute!!

Now that Pearson likes to color, I'm really looking forward to doing more crafts, art projects and activities with him!!

jenn's surprise party

On Saturday night we went to a surprise party for Matt's sister. She LOVES birthdays so her husband went all out with a surprise party for her 40th.

She was completely surprised. She had absolutely no idea she was coming to her surprise party. She thought they were going out to dinner with another family to celebrate her birthday.

The sweet birthday girl who doesn't even look like she could be 40.

David did a great job planning her party! He was a smart man and didn't tell the boys, so they were actually surprised too!!

We had some delicious fajitas from Jalepeno Tree for dinner then Jenn opened presents and we watched a video of her full of pictures of her all throughout her life.

It was fun seeing Matt's side of the family two weekends in a row since we were all together for Easter last weekend.

The kiddos had a ball playing together in the backyard of the family who hosted the party. They seriously had the best backyard!!

wedding brunch

This morning we went to my 2nd cousin's wedding. It was at 10:30 which seemed kind of early for a wedding, but it ended up being great!! They served brunch which is my favorite!!

**Don't mind my eyes that are staring off into space. I was looking at the wrong side of the camera!!

Outside the reception they had waitresses walking around cream cheese iced carrot muffins, ice water, tea, & lemonade. Inside the reception they had a chicken & waffle station, a scrambled egg station and a yogurt parfait station. It was all sooooooo yummy!! I

t was so nice to have a little Saturday brunch date with my hubby and still have the rest of the day to spend time with family!!

5 on Friday

Just a few things to share with you on this BEAUTIFUL Spring Friday.....

1. I bought this hall tree at a Garage Sale for $90 and I have been needing to paint it ever since I got it. I was going to paint it black because just about every piece of furniture in our house is black but I'm sooooooo tired of black. My neighbor has convinced me to go a different route and paint it turquoise. She recently painted some furniture with Annie Sloan paint and it is amazing!! I can't wait to get started on this project and add a new pop of color to my kitchen.

And if it looks good I'll be painting a little chair I have like this for Pearson in the same color. (Another garage sale find for $3) It's like a transition chair in between a high chair and a regular chair.

2. In a few weeks Matt and I are going to do the Advocare 10-day cleanse. I've been so bad about my eating habits lately and I'm excited to flush everything out and start fresh. And hopefully lose the 3-4 pounds I've gained in the last few months. I'm also hoping it will also kick start healthier eating for us. I plan to blog all about it while we are doing it, so stay tuned!!

3. Pearson and I went on a walk this morning. The weather was absolutely perfect!!

While we were on our walk, I picked up these Gap swim trunks for Pearson for $2 at a Garage Sale. Can you tell I love Garage Sales? Ha! I already had this navy Landsend rash guard (which I got for $2.50 at Once Upon a Child) to go with another pair of swim trunks but it matches these swim trunks perfect too. Can't beat a new (to us) swimsuit for $4.50!!

4. It's time for some Spring Cleaning at The Link Home. I'm going to be joining in on this challenge and will hopefully be able to clean out a few areas in my house. I might even blog about the progress, we'll see though.

5. And the best part of my day was that I got to go on a date with this hottie tonight. No pictures to prove it, but we did!! We dropped the little man off at the church for Parent's Night Out (seriously can't pass up $11 babysitting for 4 hours) and we went to dinner and then got dessert!!

summer list ideas??

Last Summer I made this Summer List........

We had so much fun last summer checking off almost all of these activities.

I plan on making a new Summer List this summer, but I need some ideas. I'll probably add alot of the same things just because Pearson is so young he doesn't remember them from last summer. And some things (like sno-cones & popsicles & pool playdates) you just have to do every summer!!

So what are some ideas that we can add to our 2013 Summer List?

It can be things for me and Matt to do, things for Pearson to do, Dallas specific things or just fun summer ideas that you could do anywhere!!

play ball

Last night we loaded up our new {to us} wagon or "wah-yee" as Pearson says, to go to Matt's softball game.

He didn't last too long in the wagon, because he was ready to explore the ball park.

He thought he was big stuff walking around eating his dinner.

He was even being sweet and trying to share his dinner with David.

I hope Matt enjoyed us being at the game last night because we probably won't be going to another game any time soon.

I got a full workout chasing our little guy around, so I didn't even really get to watch much of the game.

Every now and then Pearson would stop and watch Daddy bat, but for the most part, he never stopped moving!!

He wanted to play with the bats and balls so bad. I would let him play in the dugout while the guys were on the field but when they came into bat, he was so sad that I wouldn't let him stay in there.

And he was even more sad when they went back out onto the field.

Just a few more year, little buddy, and you'll be out there playing too!!

pinspired #3

I'm linking up with Mel, Shay, & Sheaffer, to post a few outfits that I created this month!! I was hoping to have more spring things this month but our weather is just starting to warm up here in Texas. However it's supposed to get back down to 50 degrees this week. Blah. I'm so ready for Spring!!!

Outfit #1: Cream, Leopard, & Boots

We had a little cool front last week after a week of being in 70's. I had mentally packed away all my boots and winter clothes. When it got back in the 50's I got onto Pinterest and found one last winter outfit to create with my new boots. I found these boots on Clearance at Target for $13.48. I didn't really need new brown boots, but I couldn't pass them up for such a good price. I'm glad it got cold one last time to so I could wear this outfit. I'll definitely pull this one back out next winter.

Outfit #2: Lace & Pink

I love how light and Springy this outfit looks. My friend was selling a bunch of her clothes and I swiped up this lace shirt from XXI. It has seriously been one of my favorite shirts this Spring so far. I love wearing it with any color of skinny jeans.

Outfit #3: Chambray, Hot Pink & Leopard

I'm normally not a pink person, so I think it's funny that I'm posting two outfits with pink!! I was picking up some pictures I had printed at Wal-mart and I just browed through the clothes section. I found these hot pink jeans for $7 on clearance. They fit perfect so I just couldn't pass them up!!
