milk & cookies shower

Today I helped throw a shower for a sweet friend in our ABF.

We went with a simple but sweet "Milk & Cookies" theme.

We had snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, and shortbread cookies with icing, and of course white milk and chocolate milk!!
B is for....
 Brody!!
 Amy got lots of sweet baby boy gifts.
Her Mom made her a beautiful hand-knit throw.
 Oh how I love little boy clothes!!
Pearson loved getting to hang out with all the girls, and he especially loved seeing our friend Julie whom we haven't seen in a while!!
{Amy, Tammy, Sarah, P-Man, Jennie (and Baby Bledsoe on the way)}
 {Natalie, Michelle, Jenny}
{Me, Courtney, Julie, Carissa}
 Pearson was all tuckered out at the end of the shower.  He fell asleep before we even left and slept the whole way home!
We are so excited for The Brattons and sweet Baby Brody's arrival.  Pearson is going to have so much fun having a little buddy in our class!!

the newlywed game 3.0

Last night we dropped Pearson off at Lolly & Pops so we could go hang out with our ABF!
 Our class is about to multiply, so Matt and I will no longer be in the Honeymooners class.  Since most of us in the class technically aren't newlyweds anymore, we thought it would only be fitting to play one last round of The Newlywed Game before we move on to our "grown up adult class".
We played The Newlywed Game last year and the year before.  Both years The Hutchison's won, so me and Matt were determined to win this year!!  Unfortunately we didn't win, but the reigning champs didn't either!! Ha! We actually tied for 4th with them!!
Such a fun night with all our "newlywed" friends.

I'm looking forward to the days when we can all get together with our little families soon.  We have 2 new babies on the way in our class.  Pearson is finally going to have some friends in our ABF!!

a busy sunday

For the last three weeks we have just been going to ABF. I've been nursing Pearson right before we go to church and it works out perfectly for me to nurse him right after we get home from ABF.

Our ABF all goes to lunch together after the Worship Service on the last Sunday of each month.  Since this Sunday was "Last Sunday Lunch" we decided this week would be a good week to attempt it all......ABF, Worship Service, and Lunch.
Pearson did great during ABF.  He was awake during the beginning but got lots of loving from Cheryl.  He eventually fell asleep in my arms, so I actually got to listen to our entire lesson.
After ABF, Matt went and got us a back seat in the sanctuary while I went to the nursery to nurse him.  They have a great little room with rockers and a changing table where nursing Moms can feed their babies.  I got to talk to another really sweet Mom that was in there with her little girl that is just 6 days younger than Pearson.  I can't wait to get involved with activities at the church with other Moms and babies!!
We missed all of the music but made it just to the sanctuary just in time to hear the message.  Right in the middle of the message Pearson let out some really loud toots.  A few seconds later Matt let me know that he could smell him.  HA!!  I ended up having to go change him since he was pretty stinky.  I decided it was best for us to watch the rest of the message out in the hallway on one of the TV's.
After church we all headed to the new Rudy's!! It was crazy busy, but SO good!! Pearson got passed around while I ate.  He loved it!!
I would say it was a pretty successful morning/afternoon at church & with friends. When we got home I fed Pearson and we both crashed!!

weekend wrap up

We had such a wonderful weekend.  I just love having Matt home on the weekend!!

We started the weekend Friday night with some Biscuit Pizzas, Peanut Butter cookies, and Season 1 Disc 1 of Modern Family on Netflix.  And of course some cuddling with our cute little guy!

Saturday morning I did some housework while Matt did some yard work then we had a pretty lazy day.

Saturday evening our little family of 3 headed to Allen for some bowling with our ABF at Splitsville.

I'm probably a bad Mom for taking him to such a loud place, but he did great while we were there.

He loved looking up at all the lights!

And there was no shortage of girls wanting to love on him.....
......so he was a happy camper being held the entire time!!
All the guys played two games.
And all the girls just played one game so we could chat while our husbands played their second game.  I just love all these girls!!
 After bowling we all headed to BJ's for a delicious dinner.  Matt and I just love BJ's.  There is seriously nothing bad on the menu.  Pearson slept the entire time we were there.  He was a perfect little angel the whole night.  I'm so thankful that we have been able to do the same things that we did before he was here.  It's feels good to be able to get out with our friends!!

I was a little afraid he wasn't going to sleep well last night because we had been out all evening and we were sort of off routine, but I put him to bed at 10:30 and he woke up to eat at 3:30 then woke up again at 8:00.  We all had a great night's sleep and we even made it to church a little early.

After church we ate lunch at Nonnie's with the whole family.  We had such a yummy home cooked meal.  I always love eating at Nonnie's.

This evening we took a trip to In-N-Out to get a burger then came home to relax on the couch to watch the Rangers, Big Brother and blog!!

Such a wonderful weekend!! So thankful for time with my family!!

craft night

Tonight the girls from our ABF went to Tammy's house for a little crafty girls night.
We made some really cute flower necklaces out of fabric.

{Cheryl, Alicia, Julie Z.}
 {Carissa, Me & P, Kristin}
 Pearson was being a little needy at first so Tammy had to cut out a lot of my fabric for me.
 Once I put him in the K'tan though, he konked out and I had both hands free to finish my necklace.

Here's my finished product. I think it turned out pretty cute!!
Thanks for having us over Tammy!!

girl's night out

During the school year the girls from my ABF get together on Wednesday nights for Bible Study while our husbands play basketball at the church.  For the summer we decided it would be too hard to stick with a Bible Study, so we planned a fun activity for each Wednesday night.

Tonight we all met up at Chuy's for a little food and drinks and fellowship.
I just love all these girls.  We always have a good time when we are together!!

{Rachael, Denise, Kristin, & Sam}
 {Jenny, Carissa, & Amy}
 {Julie, Michelle, & Me}
My favorite part about Chuy's is their Happy Hour.  They have FREE chips and queso from 4-7!!
I probably ate Pearson's weight in Chips and Queso.  Mmmmmm it was SO GOOD!!!

 I'm so glad I was able to go tonight because I'm probably not going to be able to go for the next few weeks.  Next week I'm going on a date with Matt (as long as Pearson hasn't joined us), and then the next Wednesday we will for sure have had him.  And then for the next few weeks, I probably won't be venturing out with a newborn.
I'm hoping that once Pearson and I get into the swing of things we'll be able to go to Girl's Night out a few more times this summer.

Surely the girls won't mind me bringing my sweet little baby BOY to a girls night!!

dinner & a date

Today our ABF had an entire "Fun Day" planned for the class.  It involved riding the dart rail from Plano all the way to the West End with lots of fun stops in between, including Pokey-O's.  We weren't able to join in on all the fun because I had a baby shower.  (more on that later!)  We did though meet up with them at the West End at RJ's Mexican Cuisine for dinner.
 We were super sad to have missed the stop at Pokey-O's.  We weren't super impressed with dinner, so when everybody left on the train to go back home, we decided to make a little date out of our evening and stop at Pokey O's.  Before we made our stop drove around Dallas a little bit and then stopped and browsed Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn kids.  I wish I could have my entire house decorated from there!!

At Pokey-O's, Matt got a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and a chocolate chip cookie with cake batter ice cream.
I got a snickerdoodle cookie and a cranberry white chocolate cookie with cake batter ice cream.
They were YUMM-O!!

I love that we got to spend the evening out and about together.  I hope we can squeeze in a few more dates, just the two of us, before little P gets here.

the object of the game is laughter

Last night we had a date night with three other couples from our ABF.
We started the evening with a delicious dinner at Chick-fil-A.

We all wanted to eat cheap, and it didn't take us long to all agree on our favorite fast food restaurant.

After dinner the Hooper's had us over to play games.
 The Howard's brought the greatest game ever.
 The game was called THINGS, and the object of the game was laughter.  We definitely laughed alot!!
 The Beazely's brought some delicious cookies called Double Doosies!!
I love date nights with our friends from our ABF.  I can't wait for our February date night!!
