why jumbo pack diapers are cheaper

I don't have much time for couponing these days.  I rarely even take coupons into the grocery store anymore.  I've found the only couponing I do is at CVS because I love their ExtraBuck program.  I can almost always score pretty sweet deals on diapers there too!!

Most people think it's cheapest to buy the big boxes of diapers, but that's not true.  CVS almost always has ExtraBuck deals going on on different brands of jumbo pack diapers. We aren't picky on brands of diapers so I just get any brand when the price is right.
My total for all of these items started around $60, but after sales, ExtraBucks I already had, Manufacturer coupons, and coupons that printed out of the CVS Machine, I only paid $9.89.

This makes these diapers about 13 cents a piece.  Even if you get good deal on Amazon for diapers, the best price you could get would be about 25 cents a diaper.  I bought boxes of diapers when Pearson was little because Amazon had better deals, but I honestly can not remember the last time I bought a box of diapers.  I always buy jumbo packs because I always get the best prices on them.

**Also, I should add that I don't get the newspaper anymore.  I print all my diaper coupons online through Hip2Save or MyDallasMommy.

Plus I got $15 in ExtraBucks back!!  Basically I got paid to buy all of this stuff!!
I guess I haven't lost my couponing touch!!

is it august yet?

If you've been reading my blog for the past year, you know that I have posted about Erin Condren deals and her Life Planners quite a few times.  I have to be honest though.  I'm not as impressed with my Life Planner as I had hoped to be.

While it is super cute with it's fun bright design.....
.....it has definitely had a few down sides.

1.  It's too big.  I don't like how I can't put it in my purse or diaper bag.  It's just too bulky to carry around with me, so it always end up staying at home.  What good is a planner that you can't carry with you.

2.  I ran out of stickers.  I loved how clean the stickers made my planner look so I was super disappointed when I ran out of stickers months ago.

3.  The tabs are getting floppy and starting to tear with all the use my planner gets.

So instead of complaining about my Erin Planner all the way until the end of December, I have decided I'm moving on!!  I've always been an "Academic Calendar" (Aug-Aug) kind of girl, so in August I'm retiring my Erin Condren planner.

So what are you moving on to??

I'm so glad you asked!!!

My sweet friend Tammy introduced me to May Books.
There are so many cute patterns and monograms to choose from.  There were so many to choose from that I may or may not have order a few extra notebooks for gifts!!
You can also choose your inside pages.  I went with the Academic Calendar, but you can also choose between monthly, weekly, meal planning, baby bump, baby dairy or just a plan ole blank notebook!!
So if you are in the market for a new planner or even just a new plain notebook, go check out these May Books!! You won't regret it!!

And because you know I love a good deal, use the code monolove to get a free monogram (a $5 value).

I seriously can't wait until August so I can start using my May Book!!

a new way to save

Have you ever been to Aldi?
It's my new favorite store.  One just opened up really close to my house and I've already been 3 times in the last week!!  The prices are unbelievable!!

I have not done a very good job of couponing since Pearson was born.  Thankfully I was very stocked up on household items (i.e. toothpaste, deodorant, bodywash, shampoo/conditioner, laundry detergent,  dish soap, cleaning supplies, etc.) and I haven't really had to buy any of that stuff.  Grocery shopping was never really my strong suit when it came to couponing.  I always got my best deals on personal care items and cleaning supplies at CVS or Walgreens.  So just recently I've decided to cancel my newspaper subscription and put couponing on the back burner.

Gasp.

I know.

 Couponing Katy isn't couponing anymore??

Not really.

I'm still following my coupon blogs and catching deals here and there.  I've found that most of the deals I get have printable coupons. I've also found that most of the newspaper coupons are for groceries and  they never really save me all that much money.  Most of the time I end up buy store brand to save more money.  If there is an unbelievable deal that I can't pass up, I can always buy the newspaper at the grocery store.  But right now, I'm not saving enough to justify spending the money on a newspaper subscription.

This is where Aldi comes into play.

They don't accept coupons, but they have the lowest prices around.  It's not a full-size grocery store, but they have just about all the staples you need at a way better price than any grocery store.  They don't have name brand stuff, but everything I've tried so far has been great.  I'm going to be doing most of my grocery shopping at Aldi and Sprouts from here on out.  I'll still have to go to Kroger for things that Aldi and Sprouts don't carry, but I'm excited to be saving in a much easier way that couponing.

And because no post is complete without a picture of my little cutie......
My little shopping buddy at Kroger today!!

awesome erin condren life planner deal

**This deal is now expired. Sorry! :(

I've been seeing Erin Condren Life Planners floating around the internet and blogs for quite some time now.  I really wanted one the first time I saw them, but I just couldn't fork out the $50+shipping for one.

Until.....

I came across a great deal on Plum District (a deal site similar to Groupon).  I got a $50 Voucher for only $25, making my life planner only $25.  Plus I scored a promo code for $10 off which covered my shipping.

I got this "Taffy Stripe" planner except mine is multi-colored.
And obviously I didn't put Jennifer Rossenfeld on mine!! I put "the link fam" and then put "matt.katy.pearson" underneath it.  I think it's going to look really cute!! I should be getting it in the mail any day now!!

Unfortunately, this deal has expired, but I have since found another great deal for Erin Condren Planners to share with you if you are interested in ordering a life planner!!
All you have to do is go HERE and register for an account.  This is a website called One Kings Lane, which is also another deal sight similar to Groupon.  You will then go to the Erin Condren Shop Now section and purchase the $50 All Occasion e-card for $25!!  When you go to order your Life Planner (or whatever you decide to order) on ErinCondren.com you can also use the promo code WELCOME10 to get $10 off and cover your shipping!!

The coolest part about this deal is that if you purchase it, I get a $25 credit to One Kings Lane.....which means I can buy more Erin Condren products!!  And then if you refer friends to this deal, you will get a $25 credit too!! Cool huh?

If you aren't totally convinced at how cool, cute and stylish these planners are, you can watch this video here and I think you'll be in love with them!!

Remember just go here to get started......

Happy Shopping!!

why pay for things?

Don't worry, I'm not stealing anything.

But why pay full price for things when you can get them for a fraction of the cost with a little bit of work.  Yesterday I bought 4 boxes of diapers (84 count) on Amazon for only $12.76.
I also got all of this at CVS today for only $29.83.
That is WAY more than I usually spend at CVS, but considering all that I got, it's a really great deal!!
(Pictured: 84 count box of diapers, tub of wipes2-16 count Charmin toilet paper, 2 tubs of Charmin Fresh Wipes, package of pads, box of 60 count nursing pads, 2 tubes of toothpaste, 3 packages of M&M's, 3 bottles of body wash, 1 bottle of lotion, bottle of shampoo and conditioner, and 6 renuzits.)

It would have cost me $150.41 without coupons, sales or Extra Bucks.

Plus I have 16.99 in Extra Bucks to spend next week!!

I just love couponing!!

**I will be hosting another coupon class in the near future.  I will be charging $15 for the class, but believe me $15 will feel like nothing after you start saving so much!!  I will have snacks, a packet full of information and LOTS of giveaways!!  Everyone will leave with something!!  If you are interested, please leave me a comment your e-mail address.  If I do not know you personally, please let me know how you found my blog or who you "know" me though.  I will be sending out an Evite once I have enough interested to have another class.

diaper deals

Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I've kind of taken a break from couponing.  I would take a few coupons to the store when I grocery shopped, but I definitely didn't do any "deal shopping".  The great thing about couponing is that I only had to buy food while I took my little break.  I never ran out of toilet paper, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, toothpaste and any other personal items.  I'm so stocked up on all that stuff that I didn't have to buy any of that on my 3 month couponing hiatus.

Today I spent a little time printing some coupons (on my new wireless printer!!) and planned out a shopping trip to CVS and Walgreen's.  I would say it was pretty successful considering I got 2 packages of Huggies diapers for only $2.31.

honeycrisp apple deal

If you've been wanting to try Honeycrisp Apples, but haven't wanted to fork out the $2.99/lb, now is your chance to get some for a great price!!

Run to your nearest Target, or drive because that's probably faster, and buy a 4lb box of Archer Farm Honeycrisps.  They are regularly $9.99 a box, but this week they are on sale for $6.99.

To make this deal even sweeter, go here and print the $1 off any produce coupon. With this coupon it makes the apples about $1.49/lb, which is a great deal for these apples.

Can you tell I'm obsessed with these apples yet?

I'm starting to think that I need a separate label on my blog just for honeycrisps!!

cvs shopping trip: week 1

Hi, My name is Katy and I'm addicted to shopping at CVS.

I make 1, 2, 3 or sometimes even 4 trips to CVS each week.  I've decided this month to show you what all I "steal" from CVS each week.

Here's what I was able to get this week...
(2 more 3 Musketeers & a sample size shampoo not pictured)
I got all this for $9.43!! Plus I got 3EB to spend next week.

It took me 7 different transactions, but I think it was totally worth it considering I would have spent $143.90.

That's a savings of $134.47!!

The electric toothbrushes cost $33 each and I got all of this for less that what I would have paid for one toothbrush!!

Yay for CVS shopping!!
