pearson's first camping trip

Lolly and Pops bought a camper a while back and they are taking turns taking each of the grandkids camping!! A few weeks ago Pearson got to go camping for the first time!  We went out to the lake around 5pm and just hung out for a little while.  It was a little chilly outside so Lolly came prepared with lots of fun and games to play indoors.
Pops grilled some awesome pork chops and I brought a potato casserole.  Mom made green beans, rolls and caesar salad.  It definitely didn't feel like a "camping meal".
After dinner, we all sat out by the fire.
Even Nash bundled up and joined us.  He couldn't take his eyes off the fire.
It wouldn't be a camping trip without making some s'mores.
Pearson definitely liked the idea of s'mores a whole lot better than he actually liked them.  He took a couple bits (enough to be a sticky mess) and then he was done.
Once we were all done eating our s'mores, Matt, Nash, and I headed home and left Pearson to camp out!!  Lolly & Pops turned the kitchen table into his bed and they said he slept great.  They made blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast then headed home.
He talked non-stop about going camping when he got home.  Hopefully this won't be the last time that he goes camping. Lots of fun memories will be made going camping with Lolly & Pops.  And secretly I'm glad he gets to experience camping without me having to do it!!  Even though camping in a camper is not really roughing it all, it's not really my thing!!

halloween 2014

We had so much fun on Halloween this year.  Pearson really understood trick or treating and had a lot of doing it.  We starting our evening by driving across town to visit my grandma.  Oma loves to see the kids in their costumes and Joe loves to gives lots of candy to us!!
My parents side of the neighborhood always has tons of trick or treaters so it's fun to trick or treat there.
Lolly & Pops and Shasta just camp out on the front porch because it's non-stop trick or treaters once it starts.
I'm already brainstorming our costumes next year.  I just love a good ole family costume theme!!
Yep, it's not easy trying to take four kids pictures.  Nobody is looking at the camera!!
Annual Halloween picture with the grandkids!!
We trick or treated with our friends, The Raneys.  Pearson and Brynn had a blast together and we enjoyed having some friends to chat with.
It was actually really nice that they had each other because we didn't have to ever walk up to the doors with them.  Mr. and Mrs. Independent!!
Early on in the evening I told Pearson to hold Brynn's hand.  He insisted that he hold her had the entire night.  She didn't mind one bit.  They were too cute!!
We also made a stop at Nonnie's house!
After three streets of trick or treating, these little guys were starting to get cold and fussy.  They weren't too impressed!!  Next year we'll probably be chasing them down the side walks!!
Hope you all had a fun filled Halloween!!

And we can't forget about the best part of Halloween…..

my little football boys

Every year I like to have a little Halloween photoshoot.  There is just something so cute about kids dressed up.  For Pearson's first Halloween he was a little lion.  Two years ago he was a little golfer.  Last year he was a minion, but Pearson wouldn't cooperate for pictures and I was pregnant so I was tired and didn't feel like fighting him!!  But this year we are back at it with the Halloween photoshoot.

I got some really great one of Pearson!!  He was SO proud of his Baylor football uniform.  He's not much of a costume kid, but because he loves watching football with Matt, he was all about this costume!!

When I first tried to take pictures of the boys together, I'm pretty sure Pearson was trying to hold Nash like he was an actual football.  Thank goodness he weighs 22 lbs or else Pearson probably would have tried to throw him around like a football!!
Nash wasn't quite as cooperative as Pearson (which is surprising because he's usually Mr. Smiley).  Nash was actually coming down with a little cold so he wasn't feeling all that great when I took these.  I was still able to get a few cute ones.
But nothing tops this picture I took a few months ago when Nash still had his helmet!!
Happy Halloween from my little football and football player!!
