first (family of 4) road trip

At the end of June we loaded up our loaner Tahoe (that's a whole other post) and headed to Fredericksburg for the weekend.  My uncle was getting married.  We left early Saturday morning and drove all day.  We got to Fredericksburg just in time for naps, however one of our little boys decided he didn't need one.  I'll let you guess who that was!

At 6pm we headed to the cutest little venue for the wedding.
This was Pearson's first wedding to attend to we tried to explain to him that the ceremony was like church and we had to sit quietly, then the reception was like a party and we could have a lot of fun.  He immediately ask, "Der gonna be cake?" Ha! Can you tell we have been to a few birthday parties lately?
Since the wedding was outside and it was a little warm, we left Nash's helmet at the hotel.  He got to enjoy the evening helmet free.  He was absolutely perfect for the evening.
My cousin Cole walked Nonnie down.
My three cousins Mackenzie, Ashton and Kennedy were bridesmaids along with my new cousin Kennedy, but I totally forgot to take a picture of her. Yes, I now have two cousins named Kennedy!!
My new cousin Hudson walk his Mom down the aisle.  Marshella looked so pretty.
Pearson actually did pretty good during the ceremony as long as he could stand on Matt's legs to see!!
My cousin's are all wonderful singers.  All the girls and my uncle sang a beautiful song to Marshella
I may or may not have planned our outfit to match so we could get a cute family picture while we were there!!
Pearson will think every wedding we go to from here on out is boring because they had all sorts of yard games for the kids to play.
My cousin Walter was playing with his new Corn Hole set that he will be taking to LSU with him in the fall!!
Pearson ADORES my cousins.  He had a blast with them all evening.
Nash was seriously so good all evening.  He even took a little snooze in the stroller.  It's so nice having a easy going, go with the flow baby!!
They had the best live music at the reception.  The singer/guitarist is a writer in Nashville and has written songs for Garth Brooks, George Strait and Brooks and Dunn! He's a pretty big deal in Nashville.
The new couple!!  We are so happy to welcome Marshella into our family.  She is absolutely wonderful and I'm so excited to have a new aunt.
Pearson got a wish and got a piece of cake.  He ate just about every last bite of it too.
Even after waking up early and not taking a nap, this little guy was still dancing the night away at 10pm.
Even though it was a super quick trip, we had a fun time in Fredericksburg and enjoyed seeing all of our family!!

#thelinkhomeeveryday2014 {week 29}

{Day 197}
Cousin picnic on our new picnic table that I still need to paint!!

{Day 198}
This teething babe doesn't like going to bed at night so he got to hang out with us while we watched Big Brother.

{Day 199}
The Polar Vortex brought us some nice cool weather. We enjoyed going on a walk in mid-July and not sweating like crazy!

{Day 200}
Pearson is constantly smothering Nash, but clearly Nash doesn't mind.

{Day 201}
Pearson got his finger smashed in the door and was milking it for all it was worth.

{Day 202}
Daddy was at softball so I hung out with these crazy kids by myself tonight.  Teething babe and a disobedient 3 yr old don't make a good combo, but I love 'em!

{Day 203}
Little Man was helping me trying to catch up on the blog which seems like it's taking forever.  I hate being behind.

#thelinkhomeeveryday2014 {week 28}

{Day 190}
The sweet brotherly love between these boys just melts my heart!

{Day 191}
We are all smiles because we survived a super long coupon trip to Target.

{Day 192}
Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A

{Day 193}
Saturday morning breakfast.  We call them Eggs in a Basket.  What do you call them?

{Day 194}
I was trying to take a picture of Nash in his Johnny Jumper and someone got a little jealous and asked me to take a picture of him.

{Day 195}
We spent the morning at my grandma's house.  She made us a delicious chicken salad lunch!

{Day 196}
It's been a rough week with teething.  These cooler days have been nice so I can sit on patio with him since it's one of the few things that will soothe him.

swim lessons with mrs. gloria

Pearson took swim lessons June 16-20th.
We went to a lady named Mrs. Gloria who came highly recommended by lots of families at our church.
I dropped him off every day at 10am and picked him up each day at 11am.  It was so nice to have one hour each day to run quick errands with only one kid in tow.
Parents were not allowed to go in the backyard and watch so when I got back from my errands, I just waited in the car until he was done.
Each day he would be so excited to go to swim lessons, but by the time it actually started he would change his mind.
Mrs. Gloria had to carry him back to the backyard every day.  She said he did great once he got into the backyard.
After his swim lessons he would always tell me that he had fun and he couldn't wait to go back.  I think that might of had to do with fact that he got a sucker at the end of each lesson!!
On the last day we got to go in and watch the kiddos for the last 30 minutes.  It was fun to see all that he learned throughout the week.  He is definitely not swimming yet, but he did learn a lot and I think it helped him feel a little more comfortable in the pool.
And of course he got a sucker at the end of his lesson.  Silly boy loves the idea of suckers but after a few licks he is over it.
Here's a video of Pearson on his last day of swim lessons……..
