*gold star*

I earned my gold star today!!

See...

I ran 15 minutes and walked 20 minutes.
(I should mention that I HATE running, so 15 minutes of running is freakin' awesome for me!!)

I like to make lists and check things off, so hopefully a "work-out sticker chart" will work for me!! I've got less than 2 months until our cruise. It better work!!

I know, I know......I'm a dork!!

I teach Kindergarten, what do you expect?

Sticker charts are my thing!!

sausage & cream cheese twirls

I got this recipe from a friend, and tried it a few weeks ago. This will definitely be Saturday morning breakfast staple at The Link Home!!

Cook a 1/2 of a pound of sausage.
IMG_3933
Drain off the grease.
IMG_3936
Add 4 oz of cream cheese while the sausage is still hot.
IMG_3938
Stir until it's all mixed up.
IMG_3939
Unroll a can of crescents, flatten the dough, and press together seams.
IMG_3940
Spread the cream cheese/sausage mixture onto the crescent dough.
IMG_3946
Roll the dough & mixture into a log.
IMG_3948
Get out unflavored dental floss.
(I know this sounds weird, but it will make your life so much easier!!)
IMG_3951
Pull out a nice long string and wrap it around the log roll. Criss cross the strings and pull. Repeat until all the log roll is cut into pinwheels

You'll get perfect little pinwheels if you use dental floss.
IMG_3965
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Serve with a cold glass of OJ!!!

Enjoy!!

a whole week without blogging??

.....that's just not like me.....

I had major bloggers block this week. I didn't really have anything to blog about and I just didn't really feel like blogging. It has been the weirdest week. I feel like it has been the longest week ever yet I haven't gotten much accomplished this week.

Matt was out of town Sunday through Wednesday night so that kind of threw my week off. I survived my first nights without him though. This trip was the first time I had slept at home by myself. It was very weird and quiet without him here. I missed him so much and he was only gone 3 nights. I really have no idea how military wives do it. Amber, Ashley & Martha ya'll are strong women.

Hopefully I'll have some yummy recipes, fun pictures or funny stories to share this week!!

Happy Sunday!!

tierny

I teach with Tierny's Mom, and when she mentioned that she needed someone to take her daughter's Sr. pictures, I jumped at the opportunity. We had a blast taking all these pictures last week. It was a little too sunny (if there is such a thing) that day, but we still managed to have a good time and get some great pictures.

Here's a few of my favorites!

honduras mission trip

{Mission Trips}

My Jr. year in college I went on a mission trip to Siquatepeque, Honduras.
It was an incredible experience that I hope to be able to do again someday. I would love to go on a mission trip with my husband. I think that would be a really neat thing to get to experience together as a couple.

My mission trip to Honduras was not what I expected at all. Most mission trips you think about doing street evangelism or working with the poor and underprivledged. We did do a little bit of that each day, but the majority of our work was manual labor. We worked on building an orphanage in Honduras. The missionary we were working for had such a neat vision. The orphanage would have little homes where 3-5 children would live in with a married adult couple. It would be set up just like a home, but without a kitchen. There was a dining hall, a school house, a chapel and a medical clinic also being built in this orphanage. We had the privledge of literally laying the foundation for the medical clinic, which was the first building of the orphanage to be built. We flattened the land, layed the concrete, mixed the mortar and built the walls of the hospital. Of course we didn't get to see the finished product, but I know that the Lord has blessed many children who have walked through the doors of the hospital that we helped build.

Instead of sharing pictures with your I thought I would post the scrapbook I made after my trip to Honduras.

it's that time again

It's that time of year again.

March Madness.

I forget every year how much my husband loves this tournament. I don't like how the games consume our Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for three weeks, but I do think its fun to fill out a bracket and compete with him. I don't know anything about the teams and I don't even watch the games, but so far my bracket is doing better than his. We'll see how long that lasts.

We both picked Kansas to win. Who do you think is going to win? Or do you even care?

kaley

I had a blast taking Kaley's Sr. pictures. I took about 200 pictures, because I had no idea how many would come out. I was very pleased at how my first photo shoot turned out. I wish I would have taken Sr. pictures more like these. I took my Sr. pictures in a studio and my outfits included, my letter jacket, my cap and gown, and capri pant overalls with Doc Martin sandals. What was I thinking?? I hope Kaley can look back at these pictures and enjoy them forever!!
