Pearson loves to "cuh-wuh" (color).

When I saw these Washable Easy-Grip Crayons at Target, I knew they would be perfect for my little man. It was the perfect little thing to add to his Easter Basket this year!

This former Kindergarten teacher loves how the triangular shape promotes a proper writing grip.

Although Pearson's grip isn't that great in this picture. Ha!!

 We've been learning letters, numbers and shapes so now it's time to learn our colors.  

Purple the only color he knows right now.  However, everything is purple, so technically he just knows the word purple!!

 And since our high chair tray isn't really large enough for a coloring book, we busted out our new "high chair".  I love it and so does he!!

 Remember, this is the chair I talked about painting here.  I got it at Garage Sale for $3!!  I seriously can't wait to paint it. It's going to be so cute!!

Now that Pearson likes to color, I'm really looking forward to doing more crafts, art projects and activities with him!!

 

seeds family worship

 Have you heard of Seeds Family Worship?  We are big fans.  Mainly I'm a huge fan, but I teaching Pearson to be a fan, and so far he seems to like them!!

Ever since he has started repeating things that we say I have realized that I need to be very careful what music he is listening too.  So many of the songs that they play on the radio are inappropriate for his little ears and even have curse words in them.  When he is in the car with me we try to only listen to KLTY, Christian CD's, or our Seeds Family Worship CD's.  Of course, every now and then we have to listen to KISS to get our Taylor Swift or Mumford & Sons fix, but I try to make sure that the things he is listening to are positive and uplifting and things I wouldn't mind him repeating.  I would definitely prefer him to walk around singing "Our God is an Awesome God" rather than "I'm Sexy and I Know It"........ya know??

Seeds Family Worship CD's full of scripture based songs.  In fact, it is straight scripture.....that's it.  There are no extra words or bridges or stories in the songs.  It's an awesome way for kids (or their parents) to memorize scripture.  

 Here's a preview of one of the songs that I just memorized.  It was so helpful to have this song because this verse was the theme verse of my Bible Study this semester.

greek yogurt

Greek yogurt is the thing these days, and Pearson has definitely hopped on the bandwagon. 

He is a true toddler though and loves a food one day and then won't touch it the next day.  However, I can always count on him to eat some Greek Yogurt.  He LOVES it!!

 I love that it is so healthy for him.  It has half the amount of sugar in it than regular yogurt and twice as much protein.  

My favorite thing about it though is that it's so thick and creamy.  It makes it really easy for him to feed himself with a spoon and it's not near as "drippy" as regular yogurt.  Obviously, he still knows how to make a mess with it, but it's not anywhere near as messy as regular yogurt.

Now if only I get myself to hop on the Greek Yogurt bandwagon.  I'm still learning to like the texture. It's just so different and I haven't quite found the brand and flavor I like best.  

nuby monster snack keeper

It's been a while since I've done Pearson Approved post, but Nuby just gave me the perfect opportunity to do one again!!

Nuby recently sent me this super cute Monster Snack Keeper to try out with Pearson and we couldn't be happier with it.

I'm a huge fan of Snack Keepers.  But I have to admit they are a little boring when it comes to colors and design.  When I saw this Monster Snack Keeper, I just knew I had to have it!!

Snack Keepers are a great way for kiddos to eat their snack independently but not make a huge mess.  It's amazing how quickly they figure out how to use these. 

 I love that the Nuby Monster Snack Keeper has a fun little look for my little Monster. 

So.......I think you should go get your little Monster one of these cute Snack Keepers!!

puff stuff

One of my friends posted a cute activity that she did with her son and it got me inspired to get started with some toddler activities that I have pinned on Pinterest for Pearson. Pearson is at such a fun age and the teacher in me is super excited about all the fun we are going to have together learning, doing projects, crafts and activities each day. Pearson loves to put things into containers and "clean up", so I knew that he would love this activity. Plus it's was FREE!!

For this activity you will need: 

a container (I used sour cream), pom pom balls, ice pick, & scissors

I poked hole in the center of the lid with the ice pick then cut a circle (a little bit smaller than the pom pom balls) with the scissors.  The original one I saw on Pinterest had five holes, but I just did one.  I might go back and add some more though

 After I showed him what to do, he quickly got the hang of this little activity.

 He played with it for 15-20 minutes this afternoon after his nap and then he played with it again this evening for 15-20 minutes after his bath.  Winning!!

 After playing with this for a while, he realized that the pom pom balls were soft and he kept rubbing them on his lips. Silly boy!!

 This toddler activity is definitely Pearson Approved and it made his Mommy super happy that he was entertained with it for a good while! We will definitely be pulling this activity out periodically, and I hope to create a few more activities like this to always have available to him when he gets tired of his toys.

car tent

I went up in the attic this week and got some of my old Kindergarten center activities that were age appropriate for Pearson.  It was like Christmas in September for Pearson because he has quite a few new toys including some puppets, a doctor kit, a tool kit, lots of puzzle and this little car tent!!

I think it's probably safe to say that all kids love building tents.  I remember making them with my brothers when we were little all the time!!  

Pearson had a ball playing in this little car tent.  I happened to pick mine up at a garage sale for $1, but I looked up Playhut online and it looks like you can get them at Target, Walmart, Amazon, Toys R Us and a few other places.  

We will definitely be getting this tent out daily for a while.  We had a blast with it yesterday!!  And the think I love most about it is that it folds up completely flat and fits perfectly behind his changing table.
