daddy's biggest fans

Matt has been playing in a men's softball league for four or so years.  Most the time his games are past the boys bedtime so I stay home and enjoy having the TV to myself.  I usually end up watching one of my guilty pleasures…..The Bachelor/The Bachelorette or Dancing with the Stars.  But,  on the rare occasion that he has a 6:30 game, I always try to go since it's the only game that doesn't keep the boys up way past their bedtime.

This past Monday night we packed a little picnic, and headed to to ballpark to watch Matt play ball.  It was nice having a little picnic to eat while Daddy warmed up.
Pearson was so excited to watch Daddy play softball.  I know he felt so cool sitting with Matt by the dugout.
If Matt would have let him, he would have ran out on the field with him.  He wanted to be right with him the whole game!!
It was so precious to hear him cheer "Go Daddy Go" and "Get a Home Run".
Nash didn't care much about the game because he had food in front of him!
I learned my lesson with Pearson that you don't take a baby out of the stroller at a ballpark until you are ready to chase them and not watch the game anymore.  When Nash had finally had enough of the stroller, I finally let him out when there was about 20 minutes left in the game.
He was in heaven walking around like a big boy!! It didn't even bother him one bit that he tripped every 5th step or so.
I swear this silly boy is going to bite his tongue off one day.  He cannot keep it in his mouth!!
The guys won their game 23 to 7.  I think it's because they had to two of the cutest little lucky charms cheering them on!!
When we got home they were both pretty interested in Matt's hat.  I just love the way these boys look up to and adore their Daddy.
They are both definitely Daddy's biggest fans!!

busy busy weekend

We had a busy, busy weekend.  I feel like I'm just now catching up to sit down and blog.
Have I mentioned how tired I am?  I totally remember being tired with Pearson, but not this tired.  If I don't get a 2-3 hour nap every day, I'm asleep on the couch at 7:30.  It's pitiful.  But at least I know that all these naps are helping me grow a big strong baby.  We went to the doctor today and got to see our little baby for the first time.  I'll share pictures tomorrow.

For now, let's talk about our busy, busy, weekend.
We started our weekend with Carson and Olivia's 5th and 2nd birthday party.  I didn't take a single picture.  I stole this picture from Ashley.  Her table turned out so cute and the food was delicious!!
Since Pearson just had his birthday, he knew just what to do with all the presents.  He had a hard time understanding that the presents weren't for him.  Thankfully, Olivia didn't mind the help and let him help her unwrap her presents.

Saturday evening we met up with Matt's parents to drop him off for a sleepover while we went to the Ranger's Game with our ABF
Our seats were way high up, but it didn't matter because it was just  nice to get away for the evening with our friends.  It would have been even better if the Rangers would have won.  The last three games we have been to, they have lost.  We must be bad luck.
While we were at the Rangers game Pearson was having a blast with Grammy and Grandaddy.  Or "Go-Daddy" as Pearson has been calling him lately.
They made a little sandbox for him to play with.  Look at that little mischievous smile.
Grammy also made this fun little water tower with coke bottles.  She said he thought it was the neatest thing ever!!
We got a text from Grammy in the morning saying that he slept great!  Pearson and Grandaddy started their morning watching "golf-ball" (The British Open) and eating "tup-takes" (banana muffins).  He got to go to church with Grammy & Grandaddy which was a real treat for him!!
After church Matt and I headed up to Sherman to spend the rest of the day with them.  We had a yummy lunch, swam, took a little nap, played with all of Grammy & Grandaddy's cool toys, ate dinner and then headed home.

I was too tired to take any pictures all day, so we don't have any pictures of our time together.  But I can guarantee we had a good time, because our car ride home looked like this.......
Thanks Grammy & "Go-Daddy" for keeping Pearson so we could have a night away!!

play ball

Last night we loaded up our new {to us} wagon or "wah-yee" as Pearson says, to go to Matt's softball game.
He didn't last too long in the wagon, because he was ready to explore the ball park.
He thought he was big stuff walking around eating his dinner.

He was even being sweet and trying to share his dinner with David.

I hope Matt enjoyed us being at the game last night because we probably won't be going to another game any time soon.
I got a full workout chasing our little guy around, so I didn't even really get to watch much of the game.
Every now and then Pearson would stop and watch Daddy bat, but for the most part, he never stopped moving!!
He wanted to play with the bats and balls so bad.  I would let him play in the dugout while the guys were on the field but when they came into bat, he was so sad that I wouldn't let him stay in there.
And he was even more sad when they went back out onto the field.
Just a few more year, little buddy, and you'll be out there playing too!!

oh the madness

I couldn't care less about college basketball until March Madness rolls around.  I honestly didn't really even pay attention to March Madness until I met Matt.  He gets really into, so get into it with him!! I don't really watch all the games but I fill out a bracket and look forward to seeing how my picks do.  And alot of times I actually sit down and watch the 4th quarter.  The 4th quarter is always the most exciting in these games because so many of them come down to the last second.

This year I fill out two brackets.....
One with just my little family of three.
And one with all of Matt's side of the family.

I filled out two separate brackets and I picked two different teams to win so.......

Go Kansas and Go Gonzaga!!!
Even all the little cousins fill out a bracket with Matt's family so we had to help Pearson make his picks.  Last year I picked half of his bracket and Matt picked the other half, but this year we let him do all of the picking!! His bracket is pretty interesting to say the least!!
We let him pick in a few different ways......
First we would hand him two different bath toys and associate each on with a team.
Then when we got out of the bath we would offer him two different toys.
When he got tired of that we wrote the first letter of each team on a piece of paper and whichever letter he said was his pick.

Unfortunately he had Oklahoma State to win it all and they are already out.

But on the flip side, I am 8 for 8 right now!!

Let the Madness begin!!

this weekend......

We had such a busy weekend!!  I didn't have a spare moment to sit at the computer this weekend, so the blog has been pretty quiet the last few days!!

We started off our weekend by meeting this little guy.  Parker is the newest little guy in our ABF at church.  He's a healthy little guy weighing in at 9 pounds.  I just love his little cheeks and the little rolls he already has!! Pearson's newest work is "gah-ker" (cracker), so we we asked if he wanted to go meet Parker he said, "gah-ker".  So for now, Parker is a cracker to Pearson!!

After meeting Parker, we dropped Pearson off at the church for Parent's Night Out.  Our church does an amazing thing on the first Friday of every month.  For only $11 ($20 for 2 kids, and I think $25 for 3 o more) you can drop your kid of at the church for childcare from 6:30-10:30 so you can go on a date with your spouse!!  We were given a certificate for my birthday from our Preschool minister, so we put it to use and went on a date to Saltgrass!! We even had a gift card to Saltgrass so we had a really nice cheap date!!
Saturday morning we got up early and had family picture done!!  Our photographer posted these two sneak peeks!
I'm in love!!  I can't wait to see the rest!! I'll have to keep the rest in hiding because we are going to use these pictures for our Christmas Cards!!
We were planning on having a relaxing day at home on Saturday, but a friend from church had two free tickets to the Baylor football game in Waco.  I swiped them up because my hubby is a die hard BU fan.  When we got into Waco, we ate lunch at Health Camp.  We also got a Orange Dreamsicle shake and it was the best shake I had ever had in my life!!
I was going to be crazy and take Pearson to the game with us, but luckily I got out of it last minute!! Our good friends, The Hoopers, just moved away from Dallas but were also in Waco for the day.  Jonathan ended up going to the game while I hung out with Tammy at Chelsea's house.  Tammy is friends with Chelsea in real life, so she introduced me to Chelsea's blog.  We read each other's blogs, so we are "blog friends" but we had never actually met.  It was so nice to be at someone's house that was set up for a toddler.  She has a little 15 month old, so Pearson had a ball swinging in her swing and playing with all of her toys.

I'm sad Carter was with her grandparents for the day because I think Pearson and Carter would have had a ball together.

Thank you SO SO SO much Chelsea for letting us invade your house for the afternoon. Especially even after you left!!  You are so sweet!!

While Tammy, Pearson and I were playing and catching up on life Matt and Jonathan were enjoying the game with some pretty close seats!!
I am SO thankful that Pearson and I ended up not going because after half time there was a lightning delay and it sprinkled for a little while.  Lots of people left so Matt and Jonathan upgraded their seats to the 50 yard line!!
After the game we had Ninfa's for dinner and then headed home.  We had such a great day in Waco.  It was so good to have an unexpected day of fun with The Hoopers!!

my kind of golf

One time a few years ago, I tagged along with Matt while he played a round of golf.  I'm pretty sure I'll never do that again.  It was way too hot and it took forever.  Top Golf is definitely my kind of golf.  It's in the shade, you don't have to be any good, and there are waitresses to bring you food and drinks!!

This afternoon we went to Top Golf with a few of our friends from our ABF.
{The Hanks}
 {The Hjertstedts}
Anna is having Baby Westin on Wednesday and she still managed to hit some balls!! Go Anna!!!
I have to admit I was quite impressed with my first 5 shots.  I was even beating Matt after the first round.  Unfortunately, my game went downhill from there and his game went up.
See what I mean....this is my kind of golf game!! I actually got a decent score!!
Matt would have loved to stay longer for more games, but we decided to come  home for little man to take a nap.  (Although he's been talking in his crib for an hour now and he's still not asleep)
We had a fun afternoon with friends and our little family playing my kind of golf!

poor bears

This weekend we got tickets to the Baylor Super Regionals in Waco.
Matt was thrilled to introduce Pearson Baylor baseball.
It was so nice to have Matt's parents at the game with us to help wrangle our little man who doesn't like to sit still!!
The game was so stinkin' hot.
The game started at 4pm and the 3rd inning was just ending at 5:30.  We took a little break from the heat to meet up with some old friends from our ABF.  It was so good to see Adam and Cassidy and meet their sweet girl, Savannah!
When we got back to our seats, the couple in front of us said that we could scoot up to the front row and take their seats because they had to leave for a wedding!!
Pearson loved our front row seats because he had a lot more freedom and didn't have to sit in our laps.
Check out that crazy sweaty hair.  He is one sweaty kid.
I'm really proud of how well Pearson did at the game, considering he only had a short afternoon nap, the heat and the fact that the game went right through his dinner time.
He did eat alot of fishies and had a little fruit pouch while we were there though.
 Sweet boy!!
Even though it was hot, it was a fun day with our little family and Grammy & Grandaddy!
So far, Pearson has been to two Baylor sporting events and they have won both games!!
Sadly, game two and three didn't end like game one did.

Matt and his Dad went back to the 3pm game twoon Sunday while Matt's Mom, Pearson and I just hung out at the house.  Saturday was fun, but way too hot for us!! We enjoyed watching the game in the AC.   Since they lost game two, the boys made one more trip to Waco for game three tonight.

Poor bears, they lost again.  My poor hubby is heart broken.

And even though I am an Aggie, I gotta say Sic 'Em because those Bears have really had an unbelievable year in sports.
