10 on 10 {October 2015}

Our 10th this month was full of lots of fun!!

We started the morning off with a 9am soccer game.  They don't keep score in Upwards Soccer, but technically they lost.  Oh well, look at that smile on his face!!! He loves playing soccer.
 After Pearson's soccer game we went home and cleaned up so we could go to a pumpkin patch.  It was a legit pumpkin patch where the pumpkins were still on the vines! It was pretty cool!!
 On our way home we saw that Fresh by Brookeshire's was doing free kid's meals with the purchase of an adult meal, so we decided to stop for lunch.  It beat making sandwiches at home!  It was the perfect day for sitting on a patio!
While we were at Fresh, they were sampling 903 Blonde.  We live in the largest 903 area, but this beer is actually brewed in Sherman (Matt's Hometown).  He had never had it, so he gave it a try and said it was pretty good!
 While the boys were napping, Matt went and changed my oil.  I got our tortilla soup all made up and simmering on the stove while sipping on some sweet tea in my new Pioneer Woman mason jar.  Have you seen all of her beautiful stuff at Wal-Mart? I want it all!!
 We put both of the boys down at 2pm.  Pearson slept until 4:30 and Nash slept past 5pm.  We finally had to wake him up.  I got lots of snuggles from these two little sleepy heads.
Today was a crazy day, so it was just one of those days I let the dishes pile up all day.  I hate the mess of dirty dishes, but I also hate doing dishes.  Atleast when I let them pile up, I get it all done in one setting!!  Anyone else hate doing dishes??
 Pearson had took a shower with Matt after nap time so Nash got to take a bath all by himself after dinner.  He was in heaven!!  He loved having all the toys to himself.
 Before bed, the boys always like to have a little wrestle session.  This is what they do when we say give each other hugs and kisses!!
 Matt and I watched a few episodes of Homeland before we called it a night.
Happy 10th and Happy Fall!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday!!

10 on 10 {march 2014}

So I totally missed 10 on 10 yesterday.  Can I blame it on lack of sleep and having a newborn??

I'm making it up today by doing 11 on 11 post!

I just love doing 10 on 10 each month.  It's a fun way to document our everyday life.  I know I will enjoy looking back at these posts someday to see what our lives looked like each month.

Nash had a great night last night.  I nursed him at 9:30, then he slept until 2:30, I nursed him again, and then he slept until 6:30.  When I was finished nursing him I went ahead and got up for the day so I could take a shower before Pearson woke up.
 Lately I'm doing good if I get a shower in.  I feel like I have conquered the world when I have enough time to fix my hair and put on make-up.  I'm sort of obsessed with this new Mary Kay cream eye shadow.  I got it in a swag bag from a Dallas Moms Blog event.  I've never ordered Mary Kay make-up, but I just might have to find someone to buy this stuff from because it's awesome!!
 Pearson ended up sleeping until 8:30.  This time change has actually made him sleep longer hours.  It's been awesome.  While I finished getting ready the boys hung out on the bed.  Pearson is such a good big brother.  He was talking to Nash, reading him books, hugging and kissing him and telling him "It's okay!"
**Please ignore my iron that still needs to be done and the pile of CLEAN clothes that needs to be put up.  I can't keep up with all the laundry.  It's crazy how much more laundry I do since the addition of Nash.
 This morning while I nursed Nash, I decided to let Pearson watch a TV show.  For the last year or so we have only allowed Pearson to watch one TV show on Saturday mornings.  It's not that I'm against him watching a daily TV show, it's just that he throws a huge fit after the show and the 30 minutes of freedom I get are not worth the tantrum I have to deal with when the show is over.  Every now and then I will test him out and see if he can watch one show without getting upset and he always does.  I tried one more time today and we might have had a break through.  He watched one Super Why! on Netflix and when it was over he happily started playing with his toys.
 I just love the Duplo Legos.  He used to build all the cars straight from the instructions, but now he does his own thing.  I love watching him be creative with these legos.
Pearson was long overdue for a haircut.  We just love Mr. James at the Plano Barber. He always does such a good job and he is so sweet with Pearson.  Pearson loves going there because he has lots of toys in the back room to play with and he always gives him suckers when we leave!!
 After Pearson's haircut we went to Lolly's house for lunch.  Carson was hanging out with Lolly because he was getting ready to go on a trip with Pops.  The big boys had so much fun playing together while Lolly got some Nash snuggles in!!
 I lucked out again and had both boys napping at the same time.  I got about an hour and a half to myself while they slept.  Nash takes the best naps on his tummy. I can't wait until he is old enough to roll over.  I can almost guarantee that he will be a tummy sleep.
 The weather was just too gorgeous to not spend a little time outside.  I woke up Pearson a little early from his nap at 4pm and we headed to the park to meet Naomi & Olivia.  They played so well together.  It was so fun watching them interact.
 Our meals from friends & family have pretty much come to an end but I haven't had time to go to the grocery store so we went to Pei Wei for lunch.  We had a $10 off a $20 purchase so we had a delicious dinner for pretty cheap!! We love Pei Wei!!
We were all pretty stinky from playing at the park all afternoon, so it was baths for everyone!!
We've got big bro down for the night and I'm about to go nurse lil bro.  I'm going to hit the sack early because I have no idea if I'll be up all night or get a decent nights sleep.  I'll be so glad when Nash is on a predictable schedule!!

Happy 10th!! {errrr……11th}

10 on 10 {february 2014}

**Lots of random post coming in the next few days. I'll be "re-posting" them later on the correct date but for now they'll be on the wrong date so they show up in your readers!!

February 10, 2014

This 10 on 10 is the hospital/coming home edition.  I'll post more pics of us coming home in another post, but here is just a snippet of our 10th.

My sweet sleeping baby all bundled up because I kept the room freezing.
He's soooooo sleepy all the time.  We barely get to see his eyes, so when we do we just can't stop staring at him.  He's so beautiful.
I'm going to miss my hospital cocktail.  I mixed cranberry juice and apple juice about 3 times a day.  So good.  And even better with the hospital ice chips.
All ready to go home!!
Headed home with our baby boy.  It's so weird to have two carseats in my car now.
The weather coming home with Nash was way different that Pearson.  It was bright, sunny and 102 degrees on the day we took Pearson home and nasty, cloudy, rainy and 32 degrees with Nash.
Lil Bro just hanging out while Big Bro runs all around the house so excited to see us!!
I laughed when I changed Nash's first diaper at home because it was one of the diapers from my diaper shower with a message on it from my friends!!
Off to spend the night with Lolly & Pops again!!
Snoozing with Daddy before bedtime.  Wondering what tonight will hold? Think there is any sleep in our future.
What a special 10th today was!!!

10 on 10 {january 2014}

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to wake up before Pearson and get something done rather than laying in bed until I hear "Mommy, Arrrrreeee yoooooouuuu?" I usually wait to eat breakfast with him but I was starving this morning so I went ahead and starting my morning off with some pumpkin bread and a chai tea latte.   (Clearly I'm still stuck in fall)  I just started a new devotional that a friend recommended to me at small group. I really liked it today and I hope it will be an easy way for me to be consistent in the word each day.  It's called First 15 and it's written by Craig Denison.  I love the way it's divided up into Scripture, Worship, Devotional, & Guided Prayer.  I also love how it's designed to be 15 minutes.  Hopefully this year this devotional will help me commit to giving God my First 15 each day.
 We gave this Mickey Mouse to Pearson back in May after we went on our Disney Cruise.  He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but he wasn't all that interested in the stuffed animal.  All of the sudden he and Mickey are best buds.  We have to hug and kiss him every night and then lay him down on his pillow.  In the mornings, one of the first things he asks is, "What Mickey doing?"  Many days he does everything with us including errands.  This morning Pearson insisted Mickey eat breakfast in the high chair with us.  When we all sat down to eat he said, "What about Mickey's plate? Ha! Such a little imagination.  I love it!!!
After breakfast while I made my to-do list for the day, Pearson did a little work on his "Pewter".  He loves this little computer that my grandma gave him for Christmas soooooooo much.  I have had to hide it or ask him to put it up a few time and choose another  toy because he would play on it all day long if I let him.  Even though it's age appropriate technology, I don't want him to be addicted to it.  I want him to build and run around and create too.
 Even though it was a little dreary today we set out to run a few errands.  I am so thankful that Matt almost always fills my car up with car for me, because EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I fill up my car (which isn't all that often) I either pick the slowest pump or the pump that won't pump on it's own without me standing there.  Today I picked both.  Ugh........it took forever.
Our first errand was to start a baby registry at Target.  I wasn't originally going to register anywhere because I am only have a diaper shower.  No need to register for those.  But then I remembered all the great coupons and samples they give you when you register.  Plus they give you the completion coupon for all the things left on your registry.  So we will be registering at Target, Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby!!! I also thought it might be nice for our families to be able see what we needed......which isn't much since we are having another boy. Pearson loved helping me with the scanner.  He would have gotten Nash everything in the store if he couldn't because he kept saying "How bout dat one?" to everything he saw!!
 We had alot more errands to run, but apparently there was a huge wreck on Interstate 30 and we couldn't get to where we needed to go.  We headed home for some playtime and lunch instead.  We have soooooooooo many new Christmas toys and ya know what this boy wants to play with.  All of his old baby toys that we just pulled out of the attic for Baby Nash! Silly Boy!!!
During nap time I made these muffins for our breakfast tomorrow.  The recipe made says it makes 12 but I made 22.  Whatever we don't eat tomorrow will be going in the freezer.  These freeze perfectly and will be a nice easy breakfast to warm up after Nash is here.
Earlier this week my friend Jenica came over for a playdate and I pulled out our bouncer for her little guy to hang out in.  After naptime Pearson got our little DW doll out and put it in the bouncer that was still on the kitchen table.  He got his crayons and coloring book out and said the baby wanted to color.  He's going to be such a good big brother!!
Look what my sweet hubby brought home from work.  Okay.....I might have e-mailed him this coupon then called him and asked him if he would do me a yummy favor for me on his way home from work.  He obliged and brought these sweet treats home with him.
 After dinner I was having some Braxton Hicks contractions so I took it easy on the couch while the boys played in Pearson's room.  When I went to check on them this silly boy had on his "gobbles" and "ear cubers (covers)".  He said "I working".
**And yes, he has Christmas PJ's on......they still fit......so we still wear them!!!
Happy 10th everyone!!

Linking up with a bit of sunshine

10 on 10 {december 2013}

Whew, I almost forgot that today was the 10th!!

This morning while before we got out of the car I tried to take Pearson's picture and he told me "Put phone up, Mommy!"
All the ice is finally starting to melt.  It was so pretty this morning driving Pearson to school.  It looked like fields of glass.
I spent the morning prepping for Pearson "Happy Birthday Jesus" Party at school today.  I'm such a procrastinator when it comes to planning his parties.  Nothing like the morning of!!
This was the cute little snack I made for the kids.  Baby Jesus in a manger made with a muffin liner, shoestring potatoes and a pig in a blanket.
 Mmmmm....have you had Chick-fil-A's Tortilla Soup.  It is soooooo yummy, especially on a cold day like today.
 Party Time!!!
 I signed up to take dinner to a friend tonight but I didn't quite have my act together so they got take out!!
 After dinner we took a family trip to Toys R Us to figure out what wanted to get Pearson for Christmas.  We took advantage of the fact there was Expectant Mom parking because of the Babies R Us!!
I finally got around to taking my 29 week photo tonight and Pearson wanted to get in on the action.  He said "Take my picture. Pearson's turn!"
I'm loving watching Pearson experience Christmas this year.  It's all so much fun to him.  He loves to look at the Christmas tree.  I'm thrilled that he loves to just look at it and hasn't taken a thing off of it yet!!
That's all folks.  Happy 10th!
