Baby No. 2 {7 & 8 weeks}

I'm so excited to start my "Bump Series" this week with Baby No. 2!!
 how far along? 8 weeks
how are you measuring? We will know soon.
size of baby? size of a kidney bean
heartbeat?  We will get to hear it at our appointment next week.
total weight gain/loss? -1.6 lbs
maternity clothes? Nope, not yet! I haven't even pulled them out of the boxes.
stretch marks? Just the ones I got at the end of my pregnancy with Pearson.
sleep?  This week I have been sleeping so restlessly.  I've been having lots of crazy dreams, and it seems like I wake up in between each dream and then have a hard time falling back asleep.
best moment this week?  Taking a 2 hour nap on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon.  And finding out that I'll be writing for a Mom's Blog starting in August (more on that later!)
movement? Nope.
food cravings? Sonic Ice Water & Peaches
gender predictions? I have no idea, but this week I had a lot of girl dreams.  Who knows!!
what i miss? Having energy.  I have been so tired lately.  By the time dinner rolls around, it takes every ounce of energy I have left to cook and clean up the kitchen.
what i'm looking forward to? Our first sonogram on July 25th and a fun weekend ahead.  We have Carson & Olivia's Birthday Parties and then Pearson is spending the night with Grammy & Grandaddy while we go to a Rangers Game!
how are you feeling? I am super tired.  This week I have had random spouts of nausea during different parts of the day.  A few times in the middle of the night and a few times in the late afternoon.  Also, when I get up to quickly from lying down I black out for a few seconds.  It's so annoying.  Overall, I really don't have anything to complain about.  So far pregnancy is agreeing well with my body again!!
comparisons to last pregnancy? I'm not showing yet, but I feel so much more bloated than I ever did with Pearson.  I also have been really out of breath this week.  I don't ever remember feeling that way with Pearson.

And because I love a good comparison picture.  Here I am 8 week pregnant with Pearson and Baby No. 2.
I went ahead and starting taking pregnancy notes during week 7, but didn't do a bump picture since I didn't start until 8 weeks with Pearson.  So here is last week's notes.......

how far along? 7 weeks
how are you measuring?  We will know in a few weeks.
size of baby? size of a blueberry
heartbeat?  We will know in a few weeks
total weight gain/loss? -1.6 lbs
maternity clothes? Nope, not yet!
stretch marks? Just the ones I got at the end of my pregnancy with Pearson.
sleep?  I'm just getting up once in the night to go to the bathroom, which is normal for me even when I'm not pregnant.  I'm having trouble going back to sleep though, which is not normal.  I lie in bed just thinking about the health of our baby, the gender of our baby, what life will be like with two kiddos, etc.  My mind just starts turning and I just can't stop it.
best moment this week?  Announcing on Facebook and my blog that we are expecting!!
movement? Nope.
food cravings? Sonic Ice Water
gender predictions? I have no idea, but I've been having lots of boy dreams this week.
what i miss? Cold lunchmeat.  I really missed this in the beginning of my last pregnancy.
what i'm looking forward to? Our first sonogram on July 23rd.
how are you feeling? I am super tired.  There are only a few days that I haven't taken a nap and I can't stay up late anymore.  I always fall asleep on the couch.  I just feel a little nauseous in the mornings if I don't eat breakfast quick enough. No actual morning sickness yet, Praise the Lord!!!
comparisons to last pregnancy? Super tired and nauseous in the morning until breakfast which was just how I was with Pearson. And I keep getting this same cramp in my butt that I got at the beginning of my pregnancy with Pearson.

eat more chikin

Today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A.
We weren't too chicken to dress like a cow.
It it involves free food, you know I'm there!!
Pearson had ears too but he would not wear them.  And of course he wouldn't really cooperate to take a picture either.
Since we were totally dressed like a cows we both got free combo meals.  That's alot of FREE food!! I got a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit. Yummy!!
Pearson got his favorite, Chicken Minis.  He was all business when his food arrived.  He literally ate every single bite of his combo.  Every single hash brown. And all three Chicken Minis.
We finally got a little smile out of Pearson when he was trying to put on Olivia's cow ears.  Oh how I love that sweet face.
Happy Cow Appreciation Day!!

10 on 10 {july 2013}

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

For the last 6 weeks or so, Matt and I have been getting up at 5:15ish to do the 30 Day Shred.  My gym membership expired on June 1st, so I had to find a way to work out at home.  I'm so glad that I convinced Matt to work out with me.  I love the time we spend together in the mornings working out.

I was super pooped after this mornings workout.  I ended up going back to sleep until 8:30 when Pearson finally woke up!!  While we ate breakfast I worked on some recruiting for my job at the church.  I just love all the little side jobs God has blessed me with!!  It's so nice to be able to stay at home full time but still be able to bring in some money with little side jobs.
After breakfast, we took short little walk to go see Lolly.
Pearson was showing Lolly all of the letters and sounds that he knows.  He is such a smart little boy!
We had to pick up a couple things at Wal-Mart and while we were there we found these cool re-useable squeezy pouches!! I thought you could only buy them online, so I was so happy to find them!!
My yummy summer lunch {Crackers, Laughing Cow Cheese & Cranberries, Cucumbers and Cherries}
I always try to get my cleaning done while Pearson is at school on Tuesdays, but I've been so tired with this pregnancy I didn't get it all get done yesterday.  Not time for a nap today, I had cleaning to do.
After nap time, it was time for our swim lessons.  He had such a good day at lessons today.  Yesterday was a disaster so it was so nice that we didn't have a repeat of that.
We ended our night with dinner at Lolly & Pops.  This kid was in heaven with Pizza & Pops!!
Happy 10th!!!

hanging with the girls

On Monday we got to hang out with the LeBlanc girls while their parents went to a meeting.  Ethan was at school for most of the day, so it was just Pearson and the girls!!
After we picked up Ethan from school the boys enjoyed lunch together and ran around like crazy boys!!

bun in the oven

If you missed our video announcement last week......

Yep! It's true......we've got another bun in the oven!!

So there will definitely be a Bump Ahead!
We found out that we were pregnant on Pearson's 2nd Birthday which also happened to be Father's Day.  Talk about a SUPER special day!!

I technically wasn't supposed to start until the next morning but I went ahead and took a pregnancy test because I thought it would be so cool to tell Matt that he was going to be a Daddy again on Father's Day!!  I already had a sneaking suspicion that I was pregnant, because I had been so tired the week before, so the positive pregnancy test just confirmed my suspicions!! I took the pregnancy test around 5am and couldn't go back to sleep!!  I was so excited to tell Matt!!

The month before I had asked my Mom to make Pearson a "big bro" shirt.  I wasn't pregnant at the time but I told her that we were trying and when we did get pregnant I wanted to be able to tell Matt with a "big bro" shirt.

After Pearson woke up and we both wished him a "Happy Birthday" I took him in the kitchen to sign his Father's Day card and put his "big bro" shirt on that had been hiding in the back of his closet.  Matt was so incredibly happy when he saw Pearson's shirt!
With my pregnancy with Pearson, we waited for 2 weeks to tell my parents.  It was absolutely the longest two weeks of my life.  It was so hard not to tell my Mom.  Since we already had plans to eat lunch with my parents, we decided to just go ahead and tell them that day!!

I gave my Dad a regular old Father's Day card.....
......but in the inside was a special little message!!
It actually worked out perfect because his gift hadn't come in yet so I really didn't have anything for him!! My parents were thrilled to know that grandbaby #4 is on the way!! I think my Dad was most excited that he is now beating all of his friends in the grandkid count.  Apparently grandpas keep score of how many grandkids they have!! All of his friends have 3 so he is in the lead with 4 now!!
We wanted to call Matt's parents right away and tell them too, but we thought it would be more fun to wait one more week to tell them.  Matt's Dad already had a surprise birthday party planned for his Mom for the following Sunday.  We knew it would be a perfect way to surprise both of them at Grammy's surprise party.  They were so thrilled to know that their 7th grandbaby is on the way!! Plus both of Matt's sisters and their families were there so it was fun to tell them in person too!!
It's has been a wonderful week having all of our friends and family share in our joy.  Thanks for all of the comments on Facebook & Instagram, e-mails, and texts this week.  It's such a good feeling to know our sweet little babe on the way is already so loved.

Our first appointment was last Tuesday and everything went great.  On July 23rd (when I am 9 weeks) we will have our first sonogram.  It's definitely still very early in this pregnancy, so we covet your prayers that our baby will continue to grow big and strong and healthy!!

So far I am feeling great!!  I've been really tired though.  I can barely hold my eyes open past 9pm.  I have taken a nap just about everyday since the week before we found out we were pregnant.  I am sooooooooo thankful that Pearson takes 3-4 hour naps these days.  I can take an hour long nap and then still have time to get things done around the house while he is napping.  I haven't had any morning sickness or really any nausea for that matter.  When I wake up in the morning I begin to feel a little sick if I don't eat or drink something quick enough.  I'm definitely hoping I can get through this pregnancy without having to experience morning sickness!!

Thanks again for all of your kind words and congratulations.

Stay tuned......I'll be starting my "Baby No. #2 Baby Bump Series" next week when I am 8 weeks.

happy birthday america!

We've been singing Happy Birthday to America for over a week now.  Singing Happy Birthday is the only way we can brush Pearson's teeth.  Carson has the next birthday in our family so now we are moving on to singing Happy Birthday to him!!

We spent our 4th of July just hanging out at the house for the morning and afternoon then spent the evening with Matt's family.  Pearson always takes a good 3-4 hour nap, but today he decided he didn't want to.  I was so afraid that he would be a pill at Matt's sister's house, but he was great!  We had such a fun evening hanging out with family, swimming, eating the most delicious barbecue, and watching fireworks.
We just started putting this little "puddle jumper" life jacket on Pearson and now he really enjoys being in the big pool.  He had a blast swimming with Daddy.
Pearson was so busy playing with his cousins that he had no problem staying up until 9:45 for the fireworks.  We just had to drive right down the street from Matt's sister's house to see the fireworks.  We parked in a field, popped our trunk and watched them from our car.  It was perfect.
Yesterday was Pearson's first time to see fireworks, so I didn't know if he would like them or not.  He loved them.  He sat in Matt's lap almost the entire time.   While watching the fireworks ("pire-work" as he said) he kept saying "Wow" and "Woah".  It was just about the cutest thing ever!!!
It was waaaaaaayyyyy past his bedtime once the fireworks were over so he crashed on our way home.
Hope you had a fun day celebrating the 4th!!

I didn't have a memory card in my camera which is why all of my photos are from my phone.  Here are a few pictures of our day that I stole from my father in law.......

lions & cheetahs & flamingos, Oh My!!

I know the saying is really "Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my!" but we didn't get a picture of the tiger and we didn't see a bear!!

Anyways......

When I saw that the highs this week were only in the high 80's and low 90's, I promptly texted my sister in law to see if she wanted to take the kiddos to the zoo!!  We could not have picked a more perfect day to go to the zoo.  The weather was absolutely perfect yesterday!!

Carson and Olivia had both been to the zoo before, but this was Pearson's first time to go. Can you tell that he was excited? He was ready for the "Sue".
We dressed the boys in their matching baseball shirts and Olivia wore her cute July 4th outfit.  Our goal was to get a cute picture of them together but that didn't quite work out.
This sweet cousin hug was the best we got.
I honestly don't remember the last time I went to the Dallas Zoo.  It might have been my 1st Grade field trip!!  I went to the Tyler Zoo alot as a kid because my grandma lived there, but even still, it's been a long time since I've been to a zoo at all.  I was excited to see all the animals with Pearson!!
Our first stop was to take some pictures with the elephant statues.
I thought that when Pearson saw Carson climb on the elephants that he would want to do it to.  Not so much.  He is just not a fan of climbing on things.
I finally got him to calm down and take a picture with me.
After pictures we were ready for a fun day at the zoo!!
My favorite exhibit was definitely the giraffes.  They are such neat creatures.
We were really able to get up close and personal with them.
I really liked seeing the zebras but we couldn't get very close to see them.
I loved seeing this lion.  The lion keeper was just finishing up a demonstration or something with the lion so he was hanging out really close to the window.  We got to see him really well!!
Matt's favorite animal is the cheetah so we definitely had to stop by to see him.  He was right by the window just taking a little nap.
When we left Pearson said "Bye Bye Chee-Tah"!!
I can't remember what this little guy was called, but he was so funny.  As soon as we pulled out our cameras, he popped up and started posing for us.
 Flamingos!!
Even though it wasn't that hot, it was nice to stroll through the reptiles and amphibians building for a little while.
Ashley does't like snakes so I talked to Carson about each one as we walked by.
After we looked at each snake he asked, "Is it poisonous? Can it bite me? and Where does it live?".
For lunch we found a perfect shady spot under some trees to picnic.  I love how you can bring your own food into the zoo.  It really makes for an inexpensive day!  I really can't say enough how perfect the weather was for a trip to the zoo.  We didn't even break a sweat.  And that's rare in July in Texas.
Now that Pearson is two he can finally have a peanut butter sandwich.  I can't believe we went that long without having peanut butter.  He loves a PB&J!!
He thought he was hot stuff walking around the park with his PB&J.
After lunch we finished up our day at the little kid playground and water park.
The boys had fun playing together but Olivia didn't care for the water too much.
She was just happy to hang out with us girls while we watched the boys play.
Pearson loved chasing his big cousin around in the water.  He just adores Carson and I'm pretty sure Carson adores Pearson too.
Ashley sent me a picture of her camera roll on her phone and apparently Carson was just snapping away at Pearson while we were at the zoo.  See.......he loves his little cousin.
Before we left, we tried one more time to get a picture of all three kiddos, but failed once again.  Maybe someday we'll be able to get a picture with all of them looking at the camera and smiling!!
Thanks for driving us to the zoo Ashley!!
