party food

I had a party at my house a couple of weeks ago. I made lots of yummy snacks, so I thought I would share the recipes. These are all very easy recipes.

Hope you enjoy!!
Puppy Chow

1 (6oz) pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
6-7 cups of Crispix
1 c. powdered sugar

In a large microwave bowl, melt chocolate chips for 1 minute. Stir and heat an addition 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in peanut butter. Gently stir cereal into chocolate-peanut butter mixture until well coated. Place powdered sugar in a 2-gallon storage bag. Add coated cereal to bag and zip closed. Gently toss cereal mixture until well coated. Store in airtight container.
Crostini's

1 French Baguette
1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 c mayonaise
1/2 c shredded swiss cheese

1 pkg Good Seasons Italian Salad Dressing Mix
shedded parmesan cheese (optional)

Slice baguette in 1/4" slices, place on foil lined pan. Combine cream cheese, mayo, salad mix, swiss cheese, and spread on bread slices. Top with parmesan cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 mins until cheese is melted and bubbly.

**I got this recipe from my friend Kristin. I have already made them twice since she gave me the recipe. I love these!!

Green Pepper Jelly

6-7 chipped hot banana peppers
1 1/2 c. bell pepper (about 2 lg. ones)
1 1/2 apple cider vinegar
6 1/2 cups sugar
2 or 3 drops green food coloring

Put all the peppers and vinegar in a blender and blend. Add sugar to above mixture. Bring to a boil and cook 3 minutes. Then add 1 bottle of Certo to mixture and boil 1 minute longer. Remove from heat for 5 minutes, stirring slowly. Add green food coloring (just a couple of drops) and pour into hot sterilized jars. This make about 8 (half-pint size) jars. This is good with cream cheese and Ritz crackers for party appetizer.

**I didn't actually make this. My grandma made it and gave me jar. As soon as we run out, I definitely plan on making some more!!

Easy Snickerdoodles

1 box of yellow cake mix
1/4 c. oil
2 eggs

Mix together. Roll in cinnamon sugar and bake at 325 for 10-12 minutes. They don't always look done, but take them out anyway. If you cook them until they look done, they won't be good.

Oreo Balls

1 pkg oreos
1 pkg cream cheese (8 oz)
1 pkg white almond bark
- 1 Hershey's milk chocolate bar

Mix the crushed up oreos with the cream cheese in a big bowl I let itsit in the refrigerator for a little while so it's easier to roll into balls after sitting. Roll into balls and place on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Melt down white chocolate and dip balls in it and place back on cookie sheet. Put back in refrigerator to harden.

Chex Mix

6 T. margarine
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. onion powder
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
3 c. Corn Chex cereal
3 c. Rice Chex cereal
3 c. Wheat Chex cereal
1 c. mixed nuts
1 c. pretzels
1 c. bagel chips

Heat oven to 25o degrees. Melt margarine in a large roasting pan in the oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread onto paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

**I substitute 1 c. Cheese-its for the mixed nuts and 1 c. of Captain Crunch for the bagel chips. The Captain Crunch are my favorite thing to pick out of the bag!!
