34 weeks

**I put a lot of questions marks because I was supposed to have an appointment this afternoon, but as I was pulling in to the hospital, I got a phone call saying they needed to reschedule.  I go to the Dr. on Wednesday morning, so I'll have all the official stats then.
-------------------
Updated......

how far along?  34 weeks
how are you measuring? ?? 36 weeks
size of baby? According to Baby Center our baby is 18 inches long, about 4.75 pounds, and the weight of an average canteloupe
heartbeat? 130's bpm (at our 34 week appointment)
total weight gain/loss? +33 lbs  I can SO tell he is growing.
maternity clothes? Maternity clothes all the way!!
stretch marks? Still no stretch marks!!  Still lotioning up twice a day!! Still hoping I can make it 6 more weeks without getting stretch marks!!
sleep? I'm really getting tired of sleeping on my side.  I don't even sleep with covers anymore.  I get SO hot at night.  I set a record this week with bathroom trips during the night.  I went to the bathroom right before I went to bed, then went 4 times during the night, and finally woke up for the day because I had to go to the bathroom.  So a total of 6 bathroom breaks in one night.  Crazy!!  Last night I consistently went every hour and a half. Can you say annoying??
best moment this week? We had another wonderful shower given by my Kindergarten team, I finally purchased the final touches to Pearson's nursery, and I got to celebrate my "first" Mother's Day.
movement? He moves all the time, but especially in the afternoon when I get home from school and right as I crawl in bed.  On Friday night we hung out with a bunch of our ABF friends at a Crawfish Boil.  He was moving a ton and a few of the girls asked if they could feel him move.  They all got to feel him squirm around and even felt him when had the hiccups. It was so fun to "show off my baby's tricks"!! Ha!!
food cravings? Ice Water still.  I seriously can't enough.  Oh and a snow cone!!
gender predictions? It's a BOY!!!  Pearson Davis Link!!!
what i miss:  I really miss sleeping on my back.  When it's hot, I like to sleep on my back all sprawled out.  I can't do that and I REALLY miss it.  I'm so tired of sleeping on my side.
what i'm looking forward to: My last shower next Sunday given by some friends.  FINISHING Pearson's nursery.  I promise I'm actually going to finish it this week.  I have to.  The shower my friends are giving me is at my house, so I have to have his nursery finished so I can show it off.  So pictures coming very very soon!!
how are you feeling? I feel fine in the mornings and during the day, but I really start to run out of steam in the evenings.  I start to feel VERY pregnant and move pretty slow after dinner.  I think I might even have a little waddle going on.  Only in the evenings though.

my {first} mother's day

I'm not sure if this Mother's Day technically counts since Pearson isn't here yet, but Matt celebrated me being a Mommy-to-be today!!
Matt got a me a maternity massage at Massage Envy.
I can't wait to go get it.  I still have 5 1/2 days left to take off before summer, so I know what I'll be doing on one of them!!

Matt also told me I didn't have to cook tonight.  We didn't go anywhere fancy since we had a big lunch at my parent's house and I wasn't starving.   We just ate at Quizno's.  It was super yummy though and it sure was nice to take the night off and not have to do the dishes!!

I can't wait to be Pearson's Mommy.  Only 43 more days!!

to our moms....

Matt and I are both so blessed to have such wonderful Moms.

I hope I can be as good of a Mom as my Mom was and still is.  I am so blessed to have her as my role model as to what a Mom looks like.

To our Moms......Here's why we love you!!

snow cones make everything better

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.  Everything seemed to irritate me and things just weren't going my way.  And to top it off, my hormones got the best of me.  I haven't been over emotional at all during this pregnancy.  For some reason though I got a little overwhelmed today with the all the things that still need to be done before Pearson is here.  I lost it. Tears and all.

While Matt and I were out today, we passed a snow cone stand.  It wasn't open, but it made me want one so bad.  I literally couldn't stop thinking about it.  On our way home from lunch with Matt's family we drove by TC Shaved Ice to see if they were open and they were.
Matt asked if he turned my day around and I told him he definitely had!!

I have a feeling I'll be having a few more of these before this pregnancy is over.  It was SOOOO good.

school shower

My sweet Kindergarten team gave me a shower after school on Wednesday.
We all gathered in the library for some yummy cake and punch.
The cake had a cute little USS Pearson on it!!
I feel so blessed to have taught the past 4 years at Smith.  Everyone at my school is truly like family.  A big thanks to my team in hosting this shower.  We were so blessed by all the wonderful gifts!!

showered with love

Last Saturday my best friend from high school and 7 of my Mom's good friends hosted a sweet baby shower for Pearson. Everything was so cute!!

I absolutely LOVED the invitations.  I thought they were just precious!!
The spread of food was so delicious.  They served chicken salad sandwiches, cookies, brownies, quiche, fruit and veggies.
And the best tea ever!!
{They told me their secret....it's just Crystal Light Tea and Crystal Light Lemonade mixed together. }
The little Pearson Pirate Bear was my favorite part of the center piece.  I already have him sitting on a shelf in Pearson's room!!
I can't get over everybody's generosity in welcoming Pearson into the world.  He is one blessed baby already!!
My parents gift to us was all my bedding so we wrapped it up and took it to the shower!!  Here's a better sneak peek of his little toy bag that hangs on the crib.
(I'll have pictures of his entire nursery up VERY soon!!)
I knew I was getting a diaper bag from my Mom, but I didn't know what it was going to look like.  I let her totally design it. I love the way it turned out!!  My Mom is SO talented.
My mom filled the bag with all her other little things she makes and each one of them had this sweet little tag on it!!
My grandma also gave me a very special gift.  She made an "I-Spy Quilt".  Each little square is a different fabric and it has something in it that you can "spy".  When it's cold outside, me and Pearson can snuggle up on the couch and play I-Spy with our quilt from Nonnie!!
Pearson is going to have the best grandma's ever.
Lolly & Grammy love Pearson so much!!
And he has some pretty sweet Aunt's too!!
Aunt Ashley (and his little cousin Olivia....coming at the end of July)
Aunt Jenn & Aunt Nicole too!!
Thank you Brittany and all my Mom's friends for making Pearson's shower perfect in every way!!
You truly blessed us!!

calling all mommies: the night shift

This week's topic is.....

THE NIGHT SHIFT

I think it's pretty crazy how God really prepares our bodies for sleepless nights during the last few weeks of pregnancy.  Just in this past week, I have really started to sleep pretty restlessly, getting up multiple times in the night to turn, go to the bathroom, adjust the pillows or get a cramp out of my leg.  I wake up very sleepy and I can only think......"hmmmmm this is what my life is about to be like.".......{times 10}

So my question this week is......

How do you get through the night?
Do you always wake up with baby or does Daddy help out?
If you nurse, do you pump so Daddy can help out?
How did you get your baby to sleep through the night?
Do you swaddle, rock, plop them in the crib or let them cry it out?
When did your baby start "sleeping through the night"?
What do you consider "sleeping through the night"?

33 weeks

how far along?  33 weeks
how are you measuring?  34 weeks
size of baby? According to Baby Center our baby is 16.7 inches long, about 3.75 pounds, and the weight of a larger jicama. (What is that?)
heartbeat? 135 bpm (at our 32 week appointment)
total weight gain/loss? +?? lbs  I forgot to weight this morning, which is probably a good thing because I feel like I grew a ton this week.  He's growing.....I'm growing (just look at the difference between last weeks picture and this weeks picture to see for yourself).....I'm just going to have to get over the weight gain.  I've been stressing way to much about it.
maternity clothes? Maternity clothes all the way!!
stretch marks? Still no stretch marks!!
sleep? Potty breaks are the only thing keeping me up these days.  I'm actually sleeping pretty good.  If I get up for a 3rd time in the night to go to the bathroom, it's usually around 4 or 5 and I sometimes have a hard time falling back asleep.
best moment this week? We had a wonderful shower given by my best friend from high school and some of my Mom's friends.  It was a great turnout, a great shower and Pearson was totally blessed with lots of goodies!!
movement? He doesn't kick so much anymore.  I think he's running out of room.  His movement is now just flipping and turning and moving from side to side.  It's really crazy to watch my belly move and shift.  Sometimes I have a big bulge on one side of my belly, it looks so funny!!
food cravings? Nothing really.
gender predictions? It's a BOY!!!  Pearson Davis Link!!!
what i miss:  I miss being able to relax.  I've had a really hard time this week sitting down and relaxing.  I have so much on my to-do list and we are down to 5 weeks of school and 7 weeks until he's here.  I don't have time to relax, but I know I need to prop my feet up and relax every once in a while.
what i'm looking forward to: My Kindergarten team is giving me a shower on Wednesday, we are meeting with a pediatrician on Thursday afternoon, and I am having my maternity picture taken on Thursday afternoon too!! Oh and I'm taking of Thursday afternoon and Friday!!  3 1/2 day work week!!
how are you feeling? I really have not major complaints.  This really has been a pretty easy pregnancy.  I feel like I'm nearing the "I'm miserable stage" so I'm really trying to enjoy everyday that I feel great!

dinner & a date

Today our ABF had an entire "Fun Day" planned for the class.  It involved riding the dart rail from Plano all the way to the West End with lots of fun stops in between, including Pokey-O's.  We weren't able to join in on all the fun because I had a baby shower.  (more on that later!)  We did though meet up with them at the West End at RJ's Mexican Cuisine for dinner.
We were super sad to have missed the stop at Pokey-O's.  We weren't super impressed with dinner, so when everybody left on the train to go back home, we decided to make a little date out of our evening and stop at Pokey O's.  Before we made our stop drove around Dallas a little bit and then stopped and browsed Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn kids.  I wish I could have my entire house decorated from there!!

At Pokey-O's, Matt got a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and a chocolate chip cookie with cake batter ice cream.
I got a snickerdoodle cookie and a cranberry white chocolate cookie with cake batter ice cream.
They were YUMM-O!!

I love that we got to spend the evening out and about together.  I hope we can squeeze in a few more dates, just the two of us, before little P gets here.

fajita pizza

We love pizza at The Link Home.  And we love fajitas at The Link Home.

So put them together and you get one of our favorite meals!!

Fajita Pizza

Here's what you'll need to make fajita pizza.
Pizza Crust

Chicken Tenders

Fajita Seasoning

Refried Beans

Mozzarella Cheese

Hot Sauce
{I usually use my homemade salsa, but I used Picante today for time sake.}

Onion

Any other toppings you like
{Matt likes Olives}

Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees.

Slice the onion, heat a little oil in a skillet, sprinkle fajita seasoning over the onions and saute.
Heat a little oil in another skillet, sprinkle fajita seasoning on chicken and grill.
While the chicken and onions are cooking, spray a cookie sheet with Pam and unroll the dough to be the size of the pan.  Partially bake the dough 6-8 minutes.

When the chicken is finished cooking, let it cool for a little bit then cut into bite size pieces.
After the pizza crust has partially baked, spread a thin layer of refried bean on the crust.
Spread the chicken, onions and olives on the pizza.  Put little spoonfuls of hot sauce all over then sprinkle with cheese.
Bake 10-15 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
And there you have it....Fajita pizza.  Serve with sour cream and hot sauce.
Enjoy!!

calling all mommies: help

This week's topic is.....

HELP

I don't want to be one of those Moms who thinks they can do it all by themselves.  I know that I can't do it alone, so I'm totally okay with getting help from the get go.  I just don't know how much help I am going to want after Pearson is here.  My parents live just a half a mile away from us, so I know that my Mom will be a tremendous help in the beginning.  Matt's parents live about an hour away and my mother-in-law is so sweet and has already told me, "Just tell me what you want me to do and I'll do it."  I'm just not sure what to tell them.

So......

Who and what was the biggest help to you after you had the baby?
How long did your husband take off?
Was it too long, just right or not long enough?
Did your mother or mother in law stay the night or just help during the day?
Who brought or made meals/cleaned the house/did the laundry?

not that i'm counting.....

28 days of school left.....

.....minus 6 days I still have left to take off....

......minus 1 day of administering TAKS....

......minus 1 day of going on a field trip....

......minus 1 day I'm in charge of a volunteer luncheon....

......minus 1 day that we have Field Day/Movie Day....

.....equals 18 days of teaching.

And that's if you count the last 4 days of school as teaching days.

But let's be honest......

Grades are due on Friday, so the last 4 days after are pretty much fun days.

So let's just go with 14 more days of teaching.

But like I said...

I'm not counting!
