iPhone rewind {september}

It's the end of the month and that means it's time to dump all my iPhone pics on the ole blog!!

Here's little snapshots of what we've been up to.....
Love that little double chin.
Little smirk.
This is the only way Pearson would nap for about a week.  Oh well, I enjoyed the snuggles.
 Tummy Time!!
Big boy in his Bumbo for the first time.
 Love that little nose squint!
Mmmm our Grimaldi's FREE birthday pizza!
Pearson totally entertained by the sling strap at Grimaldi's.  Probably a little germy.  Oh well!
 Snoozin'.
Ewww....a blowout.
 My birthday present from Pearson.
What a face!!
Pearson can almost get his whole fist in his mouth.
Oh my goodness, his little tongue sticking out when he smiles gets me every time!
See.....isn't it precious?
He was beyond ready to eat an go to bed.
These are the moments I live for.
Mommy's little lunch buddy.
This is how Pearson lets me know he's ready for a nap.  He buries his head in the corner of my elbow.
Look how sweaty my little man gets.  This is just from me holding him for 5-10 minutes.  His hair is soaked and so is his collar.
Pearson is LOVING his fingers this month.
Daddy's little lunch treat from me and P on his birthday.
Making Daddy's favorite for his birthday....banana pudding.
Helping me make carrot cake for Daddy's birthday celebrations!
And it cracks me up that he is making the exact same face in the previous picture!!
Sweet dreams little man.

diaper wreath

I have had quite a few friends ask me how to make a diaper wreath, so I thought I would do a little how to.

First of all, I have to give all the credit to my sweet friend Tammy.  She made Pearson's diaper wreath.
These diaper wreaths are super easy to make, pretty cheap, and I think they are a little more functional then a diaper cake.  I took my to the hospital to hand on the door and it is actually still hanging on Pearson's door now!

Supplies needed:
Diapers.....obviously!!
{The following supplies were all purchased at Hobby Lobby}
Ribbon
Wire Wreath
Wreath Hanger
Wooden Letter
Paint
Embellishment (bow or wooden piece)

1. You'll want to use Luvs or Pampers diapers because there are no designs on these diapers.  Huggies and most store brands have designs on the back so they won't work......unless you want color in your diaper wreath.  I found that the Luvs give a little more girly/ruffly look.

Just to give you an idea of how many diapers I used, here are the diaper wreath I have made.

Olivia's Wreath- 27 Luvs diapers
Brody's wreath- 18 Pampers Diapers
2.  Open up the diapers and "straddle" them around the wire wreath.  You can squish them close if you want to use alot of diapers or you can just lay them next to each other to use less diapers.
{wire wreath}
3.  Cut pieces of ribbon about 10 inches long and double knot them around the diapers.

4.  Paint the baby's initial the color of your choice.  I used the cheap little tubes of paint that are like $1 but I'm sure spray paint or even wall paint would be fine as well.

5.  Hot Glue the wooden piece onto the initial or wire a bow around the top.

6.  Loop the ribbon through the letter and then hot glue the ribbon around the wire wreath.

7.  Hook on the wreath hanger and hang on the door!!

That's all.  I told you it was pretty simple. Sorry I don't have pictures for each step.  I'm pretty sure you can figure it out though!!

Here are two other examples of cute diaper wreaths I saw on Pinterest.

Have fun making your diaper wreath.  I know the "Mommy to be" that is getting it will love it because I know I sure loved mine!!

And Mommy says......

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful husband and father a girl could ask for.  Thank you for all that you do for our little family.  You are truly amazing!! It's been fun to see you grow into your new role of a Daddy this year.  I look forward to many more birthday celebrations with you.  Enjoy your last year of being in your 20's!!

good morning sunshine

I just love waking up to this little sunshine each morning.
I love how happy he is in the morning.
He is always in such a good mood and super smiley in the morning.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to capture his sweet smiles on camera.  But I still think his little face is so sweet even when he's not smiling.
I am so thankful that Matt has a wonderful job that allows me to stay at home with my little sunshine!!

pearson & his mobile

If I need 20 or 30 minutes to get something done while Pearson is awake, laying him under his mobile is a sure fire way to him totally content.  I love to listen to him talk to his mobile.

Sorry this video is a little long, but I just can't get enough of all his sweet talking!!

**I'm not sure why the video is all fuzzy.  I'll have to fix it tomorrow because I'm off to bed!!

this weekend

This weekend we headed to Sherman to spend the weekend with Grammy & Grandaddy.
I'm going to make this short and sweet......

Friday: Me and Pearson had our 2nd MOPS meeting then we met Daddy for lunch at Grimaldi's for his free birthday pizza.  Matt took a half day so we could head to Sherman and beat the traffic.  We hung out with our nephews and had burgers for dinner. Grammy & Grandaddy kept Pearson while we went to the Sherman football game then the met up with some of Matt's high school friends at Loose Wheels for some live music and hanging out.  We stayed out until midnight!! Woah!! Haha!!

Saturday: We went to see our nephew play flag football then headed to the hospital that Matt's sister works at for their Fall Fest.  We hung out at the house for the afternoon then Matt's best friend came over to meet Pearson.  Grammy & Grandaddy kept Pearson again while we went to Matt's high school reunion dinner.

Sunday: We went to Matt's parents church then went to City Limits with the whole family.  We all came back home to eat cake and open presents for all the September birthday (me, Matt & Stan).

As you can see I did a pretty crummy job of taking pictures.  So here's some that Grammy & Grandaddy took....in no particular order.
**Thanks you Grammy & Grandaddy for taking lots of pictures this weekend.

I seriously need to get my act together and get my camera out for everything.  I have just all of the sudden quit taking pictures. Our little man is growing up way to fast and I have got to start capturing every single moment.
