library fun

We love going to Story Time at our library on Friday mornings.  We haven't been in about a month so I was so glad we were able to go today!!

At the end of Story Time they have a bubble machine, and the kids love it!!

 I just love the way Pearson is looking up at Carson! He seriously adores his cousin. 

 After Story Time we always go look at books and play with the little play cubes.  Olivia preferred to play with her Mommy's wallet today though. 

 Little man loves this thing so it's always a treat for him to play with it on Fridays at Story Time. 

 He just got two new teeth this week so he was testing them out.  Gross.  

 I love that he already loves to look at books.  This really makes the Kindergarten teacher in me very happy!!

 Carson helped me pick out the books that we checked out today.  

 We had a fun morning at the library followed by a fun afternoon at the pool followed by a two hour nap!!

An now we are about to drop off Pearson at my parents house so we can have a kid-free date night!!!

not ready for a sibling

This afternoon I watched my sweet little niece while Ashley took Carson to Hawaiian Falls. While I watched her I learned that Pearson is definitely not ready for a sibling yet!!  

I came to this conclusion watching them play with this ball........

 Olivia found it.  Pearson wanted it. 

Olivia was so proud that she had the ball. 

 Pearson yanked it out of her arms and walked off with it. 

 Olivia tried to get it back. 

 Pearson moved it to where she couldn't get it. 

 Olivia got upset that Pearson wouldn't share the ball. 

 I put the ball in between them to try to let them share it. 

 Olivia took it. 

 Again, she was so proud.  And what you can't see is Pearson screaming on the floor.  

 When it was time for Olivia to have her bottle, that's all he wanted.  He didn't want his Cheerios or his sippy cup of milk.  He just wanted her bottle.  

 Although it looks they spent a lot of time "fighting".  They really do play so well with each other.  It was really easy keeping them both because they entertained each other so well.  Pearson was so funny though. He is not a super snuggly/cuddle in my lap kind of kid.  But every time I would love on Olivia or have her in my lap, he would come up to me and just give me the biggest hug.  He was just a tad bit jealous!!

After their snack, I stripped them down, sunscreened them up, and we all put our swimsuits on to swim in our backyard.  (Props to Moms of multiples!! It took us a while to get ready for the pool!!)

 They had so much fun in the little pool.  

 It was really nice that we were able to get in the water without going anywhere.  

I love these sweet little face.  

And I love that Pearson has a sweet cousin so close in age to grow up with.  

But for now, we are going to work on sharing and our jealousy issues before there is a little sibling in the Link family.

beat the heat

Oh my gosh y'all......this heat is about to kill me.  My car said 110 degrees this afternoon.  

 I thought being pregnant in the summer was a beating, but having a baby in the heat of the summer is pretty rough too. 

 It takes us so much longer to get in and out of the car these days that I work up a sweat just getting Pearson buckled up.  

 I'm an "on the go" kind of Stay at Home Mom, so we get out of the house for atleast one thing everyday.  And one stop means buckling and unbuckling Pearson 4 times.  Whew!!

We beat the heat today at a pool in Highland Park with Denise and Holland. 

The kiddos had a blast and Denise and I enjoyed the adult conversation!!   

Being at the pool is definitely one of my favorite ways to beat the heat.  What is your favorite way to beat the heat in the summer?

my kind of golf

One time a few years ago, I tagged along with Matt while he played a round of golf.  I'm pretty sure I'll never do that again.  It was way too hot and it took forever.  Top Golf is definitely my kind of golf.  It's in the shade, you don't have to be any good, and there are waitresses to bring you food and drinks!! 

This afternoon we went to Top Golf with a few of our friends from our ABF.

 Anna is having Baby Westin on Wednesday and she still managed to hit some balls!! Go Anna!!!

I have to admit I was quite impressed with my first 5 shots.  I was even beating Matt after the first round.  Unfortunately, my game went downhill from there and his game went up.  

 See what I mean....this is my kind of golf game!! I actually got a decent score!!

 Matt would have loved to stay longer for more games, but we decided to come  home for little man to take a nap.  (Although he's been talking in his crib for an hour now and he's still not asleep)

We had a fun afternoon with friends and our little family playing my kind of golf!

ONE-derful

A few weeks ago I won free 4th of July mini session from Brooke Richardson Photography.

 I wasn't planning on having professional pictures done at one year since we had just had family pictures done at 9 months, so I was thrilled to win this session.  

 I went ahead and put him in red, white and blue to go with the 4th of July pictures, but to me they are just his one year pictures!!

 Oh my goodness, this little flat smile is his new thing and it melts my heart!

 He was on the move during the whole session, so we stuck him in a barrel for a few pictures!! It worked for a little while!!

 I loved this little red wagon that she had it was too cute!! And it totally kept Pearson entertained because it had wheels.  This boy loves wheels!!

not what we had planned for today

I was so excited to check off one of "my" things on our Summer List today.  I was going to start a Bible Study at my parents church this morning but things didn't go quite as planned.  

I woke up Pearson from his morning nap, got him all loaded up just to find my car battery was completely dead.  My Dad came and jumped it, then we spent the morning hanging out in an Auto Repair shop, eatin' Cheerios, and watching a worker put in a new battery in my car.  

I'm hoping next week things work out for us to go to Bible Study.

happy summer!!

It feels like it's been summer for weeks since it's so hot in Texas, so it's really hard to believe that today is officially the first day of summer.  To celebrate the first day of summer, Pearson and I went to lunch with Cinnamon at Chick-fil-A then hit the pool for a little while!! 

I always love my dates with Cinnamon.  She is such a sweet friend to me.  

After the pool, I got a banana shake at Sonic since they are half price all day today!!

Today was the perfect summer day, Chick-fil-A, the pool, and Sonic!! Can't beat that!!
