personalized hand sanitizer

It's time for my first "Pinned There, Done That" post!!

I found this tutorial on Pinterest on how to make these cute personalized hand sanitizers, and I knew that it would be the perfect little gift for Pearson's Mother's Day Out teachers.  Cute, simple, & cheap!!
They were simple, simple, simple to make.  All you need is hand sanitizer, scissors, transparency paper, and ribbon.
First you'll need to peel off the labels.  I used good gone to get all the remaining sticky off.
I designed the words in photoshop then printed them on regular paper.  I took the printed page up to the Office Supply Store and made a copy on transparency paper.  It was a whopping 45 cents!! I have an ink jet printer and if I printed on the transparency from home it would smear.
After you trim around the edges roll it up and stick it inside the hand sanitizer.
Use the hand pump to move around the transparency until you get it flat against the front.
And Voila!!
I just added some cute little ribbon and ric-rac to make it look festive for the first day of school!!
And because I love you guys so much.....I have included a printable (without Pearson's teacher's names)for you! Enjoy!!

1st day of mother's day out

Today Pearson went to his first day of Mother's Day out!! He is doing Mother's Day Out one day a week on Tuesdays at the church that I grew up in (and the church my parent's still go to).
I love my sweet boy to death, and I love being home with him all day/everyday but I've been so excited about him starting "school".  I'm excited for him to get some socialization with other children his age in a structured environment and I've definitely been looking forward to 5 hours of time to myself.

Anytime I am not with Pearson, we are either at church, I'm at MOPS or Bible Study, or my parents are keeping him because Matt and I have something to be at.  I think the longest that I have been home alone without Pearson is about an hour when my parents have taken Pearson on a walk.

Just because we have Mother's Day Out on Tuesday mornings now doesn't mean we will miss our free breakfast at Chick-fil-A.  We just had to get there earlier and watch the time since he had to be at school at 9am.

Pearson is in "The Creeper" room with 5 other children, two 10 month olds, two 15 month olds and one 16 month old.  He's right in the middle of the pack being 14.5 months old.
Pearson's teachers are Mrs. Tracy and Mrs. Gail.  Mrs. Tracy is a friend of my Mom's and Mrs. Gail actually kept me and my brothers in the nursery at church when we were little!! How fun that she gets to keep a 2nd generation!!

Pearson is a great eater, but I had no idea what he would eat while at school.  I packed a pretty big lunch so he would have lots of options.
{edamame, gerber cheese crunchies, grapes, toddler trail mix, turkey & cheese, zucchini muffin}
He ended up eating quite a big of it!! All that playing must have made him hungry.

And tired!!
He didn't take a nap while he was at school (which was no surprise to me), so he crashed the moment I laid him down.  I think it's safe to say that he had a great day at his first day of Mother's Day Out!!

And I have to say I had a pretty great day too! I didn't do anything exciting, but it was nice to have some time to myself.  I spent my day running a few errands, cleaning out our guest bedroom, folding laundry, cleaning the floors, straightening the house, eating a quiet lunch by myself while watching Bachelor Pad, and sewing a wrap for a friend!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a fun {Pinned There Done That} post where I share the little gifts I made for Pearson's teachers!!

2012 Fall List

Tomorrow is Pearson's first day of Mother's Day out so I decided to go ahead and share our Fall List today!! I just couldn't wait!!
I wasn't going to make a fall list, but after seeing different ones on Pinterest I decide to go ahead and make one.  I really enjoyed how my Summer List gave us lots of things to do.  This list will help keep me accountable for doing fun things this fall.  I made it very generic so if you would like to use it you can.  Pin it on Pinterest, save it for future use, or post it on your blog to share with your friends!!

Happy Fall, y'all!!

a successful summer

I would say this summer was pretty successfull!!
We completed just about everything off of our list!!

We had lots of pool playdates.
We never played in the sprinklers because of the darn water restrictions this summer.

And we never made homemade ice-cream.  My grandma did however make it for Pearson's birthday party so that kind of counts!!

Matt and I had a date night
And we had donuts!!
We went to Top Golf.
Pearson ate a popsicle.

I went to Bible Study at FBC Wylie once but we didn't finish the study.  I missed the first week and third week so I was feeling really behind.  I know, it's terrible.  I'm a Bible Study drop-out.  I did keep the book so if my church ever does the Nehemiah study I can join in!!

We never made it to the zoo because it has just been too hot.  We may try to go this Saturday, but if not we will definitely go this fall!

We went out for Saturday Breakfast
We ate watermelon.
We went to Baby Bounce.
We went to Story Time.
We went to a Rangers Game.
{Technically this was this Spring, but it's the only one we made it to}

We went to the train park.
We went to a petting zoo.
 We went to Dairy Queen.
We went to the Children's Museum.
We went to the Aquarium.
We went to a spray park.
We got sno-cones.

We didn't make it to the Fairview Fountains, but have plans to meet a friend for lunch on Friday near them, so hopefully we'll splash around for a little bit!!

Wow!! We were busy this summer, but I loved every minute of it!!  I had so much fun with my summer list that I decided to make a Fall List!!  Even though Fall doesn't officially start until later this month, to me, summer is over after Labor Day.  So I'll be kicking off our first day of Fall by sharing my 2012 Fall List with you tomorrow!!

I hope you enjoy your last day of Summer.  Happy Labor Day!!

a little slice of summer

Matt and I love watermelon, so I was excited to let Pearson have his first taste of it this summer.  Unfortunately, Pearson has not really been much of a fan of watermelon.
We we got this picture at our July 4th session with Brooke Richardson.  I thought I was going to have to consider this our "watermelon experience" for the summer.  It looks like he's eating the watermelon in this pictures, but he put it up to his mouth and immediately threw it out of the wagon.  I'm so surprised she was even able to capture this picture.

I've been trying to get Pearson to eat watermelon all summer long, but he just hasn't been interested......

.......until this week.

Instead of giving him little bite size pieces of watermelon, I decided to give it to him larger chunks.  It was like he was eating an entirely different food.  He loves it now!
Here are some pictures I snapped from my phone!!
Yum, yum, a little slice of summer right before summer is over!!
